I like some of your ideas. At her age I sometimes wonder when she will be leaving us. I'd like her to have a memorable experience every day.
Thanks, not knowing what she would like, I tried to come up with a variety of ideas.

A memorable experience every day, maybe a few mintues each day using Skype to keep in touch......

I gave my grandmother a bottle of wine for her last Christmas 44 years ago and she appreciated it.

I never gave my grandmother on my dads side of the family anything and she never gave me anything either. She died 43 years before I was born.......

We do go out a lot, but yeah. That's a good idea.
Most of are trips are annual. It be nice to throw something else in there.

My Gma, mom, sister, and I go shopping together every January. We also go out to eat.

In March we all go to the casino.

We have a lot of these kinds of things, but something different would be nice. We play cards a lot too.

Both my grandmas are deceased. My mother is in her 80s and can't get around as well anymore. Not too much that she needs, although I'll most likely be getting her a robe or nightgown preferably with snaps or buttons. She doesn't like zippers because they can get stuck or break. The ones with snaps are not as easy to find. Slippers are always a welcomed gift, too. To add some fun to her gifts, I usually get her one of those holiday animated singing or musical toys. One year, it was a animated puppy that yaps and rolls on the floor; last year a musical Xmas globe. This year, I got her a singing quacking duck. Her favorite is a cute little animated singing mouse that I purchased at SPENCER'S about 12 years ago. I'll also be giving her cookies and some other goodies, but no candy. As for chores, I do the cleaning, her laundry, shopping, bills, and Drs. apptmnts.
My grandma likes snaps too.

Thanks for the ideas.

She wears gold necklaces often.

Many years ago I got her a grandma charm holder. Then I purchased a timeline of charms.

A shamrock - she graduated from East Detroit HS. They were the shamrocks.

A roller skate - she and my grandpa met at a roller skating rink.

A train - she took a train to California, were my grandpa was stationed and they were married.

Two girls and a boy with their birthstones for each child she had (one adopted).

And finally, a Chrysler emblem. That is where she worked and retired from.

I know there is one I'm missing. Oh yeah, I also got a gold 1921.

It was fun. I like buying presents.

The best gift you could give Granny is the gift of yourself. She is likely to be in her later years and you may not have much time to spend with her in the future. Just dropping in for a visit can definitely brighten her day.

Thank you.

I do have fond memories of my grandmother on my mothers side. We moved next door to her when I was 4 years old.

We do see eachother often. My mom and my Gma live together.

My sister and I made a plan to take them out once a month seperate from eachother. I will take either my mom or Gma out and my sis will take the other.

My mom retired early to care of Gma. They get sick of eachother. They are cordial and don't argue, but we can tell. So we plan on seperating them. Lol. Right after the holidays.

This way they get a break from eachother with the added bonus of having something to talk about.

When they are with eachother constantly, conversation becomes dull. There is nothing new to tell the other one.
