She was born in 1921. What do I get her?
Last year I got her everything you would possibly need to redecorate a bathroom. Floor to ceiling.
She had not purchased new bathroom stuff since the 80s. Her existing things were in amazingly good condition.
Now I look around and she has everything already.
What are you getting your older relatives/friends?

Why not ask her what she would like.MAny older people would rather get things they need and will use than some thing that collects dust.
You can do it with out her even knowing. SHow her things in sales ads and ask her what she thinks. Then ask if she would enjoy such things.

Always better safe than sorry.

She has everything, so how about some experiences then.

You could take her out to dinner and then a show. A movie or if where you live, they have touring companies, a show of that type or a dinner theater.

A day trip to a spa for the both of you.

Fruit of the month club or some type of collection of figurines in a glass showcase.

Flowers once a month or maybe a nice piece of jewelery.

A day at a theme park or day trip to some place she has talked about but never taken the time to actually go there.

A coupon book that you make yourself with coupons for blocks of your time to do whatever she might like or certain chores than need doing that she would never ask you to do.

A subscription to some premium cable stations she doesn't have but would enjoy.

A smart phone or a laptop, older people need to use their minds in different ways and to keep up with the times.

Just a few suggestions, hope something I have posted helps in your gift selection.

Make her a collage of pictrues of family members, put it in a really nice frame. Spray it with the scent of Jasmine spice

That's funny, a few years back, a friend in his 20s and I in my 30s carpooled to a show in Detroit together.

He is tall, thin, dark short neat hair, and was wearing a suit and trench coat. My grandma couldn't stop going on about him. She said "Too young for you. Just right for me."

It made sense to me. He looked like he just walked out of a black and white film.

I completed that set last year. Lol. Overboard.

Funny thing is that her towels from 1986, though smaller, were in good shape. No holes. No undone seams. I wonder if it is because she hangs her laundry instead of using a dryer.

I like some of your ideas. At her age I sometimes wonder when she will be leaving us. I'd like her to have a memorable experience every day.

My mother lost her eyesight to MD when she was in her 70's. Through the Lions Club we were introduced to a group of students at the local Community College. For a small fee they read books onto cassette tapes. We had them make several sets from her large library of RD Condensed Books. After each recording we also donated the printed books to the college library.
It was a win win for mom and the students.
That's really sweet.

She just recently gave all the grandkids most of their photos back. She kept a couple recent ones.
She says she doesn't have the room for all that. Lol.

Both my grandmas are deceased. My mother is in her 80s and can't get around as well anymore. Not too much that she needs, although I'll most likely be getting her a robe or nightgown preferably with snaps or buttons. She doesn't like zippers because they can get stuck or break. The ones with snaps are not as easy to find. Slippers are always a welcomed gift, too. To add some fun to her gifts, I usually get her one of those holiday animated singing or musical toys. One year, it was a animated puppy that yaps and rolls on the floor; last year a musical Xmas globe. This year, I got her a singing quacking duck. Her favorite is a cute little animated singing mouse that I purchased at SPENCER'S about 12 years ago. I'll also be giving her cookies and some other goodies, but no candy. As for chores, I do the cleaning, her laundry, shopping, bills, and Drs. apptmnts.
