Any comedy with Alistair Sim is automatically one of my favorites. Offhand, The Green Man, A Christmas Carol, and Laughter in Paradise would be among them.
I adore Alistair Sim. He is the best Ebenezer Scrooge. And I love him in drag in the St Trinian movies. I've never heard of "Laughter in Paradise". I moved a few months ago and cannot find the remote for my DVD player. I'll have to buy a new remote so I can use my player. I believe my daughter & son-in-law have a Netflix membership.

I tried looking up selections on Netflix, but I have to join first. I looked up "Laughter In Paradise" on IMDB. The movie is 1 year older than me. That's pretty old, lOl. I would like to see it.

Sim is grand as Ebeneezer. But I must bring yet another version of the story to your attention. It is titled "Scrooge", starring Albert Finney as Scrooge in a musical version of A Christmas Carol. Among his great co-stars are Alec Guinness, Kenneth More, and Dame Edith Evans. As Scrooge, I have never seen an actor having more fun than Finney.

I have to agree. Adam Sandler's funniest comedy. And Kathy Bates was fantastic as Mama Bouchett.

'Bringing down the house'--with Steve Martin and Queen Latifah---the ONLY movie that I've ever liked Steve Martin in. He was playing 'the straight guy.'

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Cancer

You have stars in your eyes and you're in a really romantic mood today. Your idea of heaven is to be with that special person in your life, preferably doing something very nice. If you meet someone new or a relationship gets off the ground today, things will always be rather dreamy and otherworldly between you. It will be as though real life, with all its problems, never intrudes on your time together.
