Well,My husband has always been a very heavy beer drinker. He's 60 years old. He is an alcoholic. About seven years ago he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and he stopped drinking for a few years. About 4 years ago he started up again. He can drink a 30 pack plus several more beers in a weekend. He takes several meds for his CHF and I've pointed out that heavy drinking on top of those meds is bad for his health.
Are there any medical people out there who can tell me exactly how this drinking might be affecting his heart failure?
At the best of times it isn't wise to mix
Meds and alcohol!
he really should be far more careful about his intake of
Fluids .. I know it's not easy,
but for his own sake it's necessary to be careful
Of balance as set out in excellent #9 here.
I know something of this personally, as I have a similar heart
ailment, a faulty heart valve(Mitral) and must take diuretics
To deal with fluid issues.
It pays to take care,
My doc also told me to 'pace' myself when doing things that require
Effort, even such ordinary things as walking etc,
I suppose moderation in all these things and natural
Common sense is all that's needed.
Wishing you well.. and your husband better health..
