Holder asserted that requiring a valid ID to vote is racist, stating, "In my travels across this country, I've heard a consistent drumbeat of concern from citizens, who-often for the first time in their lives-now have reason to believe that we are failing to live up to one of our nation's most noble ideals some of the achievements that defined the ... I don't know anyone that doesn't have a valid ID. Saying it will affect the poor and elderly is BS, can't use your EBT card (welfare stamps) with out an ID, they check your ID like it is a credit card. You can't get SS without an ID. Even poor people and seniors need an ID to function in this country.
Exactly... go to vote, show your ID.

What could be a problem there?

The fraud associated with US currency is tiny next to the number of dollars the US has outstanding. The Treasury and Secret Service will tell you the reason they go after every case of counterfeiting, big or small, is to preserve the integrity of US currency. It has nothing to do with the face amount involved.
Well, if it's that small, we need to require photo ID's when using US currency.

I find any offense of fraud in any degree, with any percent to be offensive. I believe that the founding fathers would call that treason...people died for our right to vote, if it isn't held with the utmost of integrity then it means nothing..spend as much of my tax dollar on it as you need.

Mister Eric left the veneer of professional behavior a long time ago, the job now is buffer and protect the legacy of the first black administration. That will fail because he cannot do it alone and the single mind is directed by a thousand pockets.
The mandate of the AG has been transformed to MSNBC microphone.

Grateful to have read all y'alls little write ups.
I had been living under the false belief that there was actually a high degree of racism, much of it politically motivated, in our country today.

Obvious pawns and shills from that camp, like Bill Cosby, and Maya Angelou had established, in my mind, beach heads of false hate, wherein African Americans and Mexicans were considered properly disenfranchised.

So I wish to thank all with particular emphasis on "Always Wary" and "Will Dockery" on their keen insights on these matters.
Isn't there some way we can establish a venue wherein their monumentally stupendous deductions can reach a broader audience?

Do any of you know anyone from 60 Minutes?

...or Rachel Maddow (Gasp!!!)

...Paula Abdul?

Whites have always had to have an ID. It is time blacks are held to the same high standards that whites are, not the double and lesser standards they have always gotten away with.

Blacks want the highest of equalities, jobs, monies, but do not want to work for them.

Who are the truest racists in America? The black ones.

For every woman with a child and bills attached, there is equally a man with careless sperm. I blame the government for for "telling" [by supporting without question or retribution] every unemployed man and woman that makes a child. I blame us, the voting public, for not forcing changes to the system.

It is a straight forward issue, even the Supreme court ruled needing ID is not an undue burden.
Your belief that it is a racial issue is subjective, and I am certain you see racial issues in every issue out there. I don't think everyone has a hidden agenda. Clearly you think I am over simplifying it and and think you are trying to convolute it.

Well, speaking of *hidden agendas*, how my homework assignment:

Ah but, where's the necessity for *preventing* voter fraud? It's making a mountain out of a mole hill, creating a *solution* for a *problem* that really isn't there.

Explain please the necessity to purge voter rolls of democrats, light fire to the hoops of absentee balloting and hindering/eliminating early voting? I'd love to hear your or anyone's defense of that.

For extra credit, why the sudden need for a 48 hour window to turn in voter registrations and $1,000 fines?

These things all sound like voter suppression to me. How 'bout you?

I think the timing could be better and I agree I have not really seen much proof. Why would it purge the rolls of only democrats? I would assume there is voter fraud it is on both sides of the aisle. There are people whose job it is to assure the voter registrations are current and correct, what are they being paid for if it is a big problem. In the past what I recall were localized issues, not systemic. Not sure why having the 48 hour thing is a bad thing. We don't have early voting in CA, most use the absentee ballots if they aren't able to vote that Tuesday but you need to request one far in advance. You also need to be registered in advance, six weeks I think. California is liberal to say the least, seems to work just fine for the democrats here.It would seem this a state by state issue. Should it be a federal issue?

Well, it should only be a Federal issue if we want to remain a country of united states rather than 50 fiefdoms.

I don't blame you for not answering my questions. It IS indefensible.
