Okay so summer is just around the corner, and of course its new swimsuit season for the daughters (the still perfectly good ones they still have from last year are good enough for some reason...) and our oldest girl who just entered her tweens got her first "whale tail" bikini (aka the thong kind which I call aid butt flosser much to her amusement) for an upcoming pool party at her friends house. While naturally her 9yo little sister once one also, but I said no and then uttered these stupidly chosen words to say to a kid "you're too young". Well not only is that 'unfair daddy!' but she also clouded the issue with facts saying it didn't make sense because we're always going naked in front of people anyway [we are a naturist family with naturist friends and our kids were raised that way] and don't you just hate it when children throw irrefutable logic in your face! Anyway, I told her that was different because bikinis are for when you're out in society where their rules say you can't go naked, and mom and I decided your sister had to wait until she was 14 and therefore, so do you or it wouldn't be fair to her. She made me promise that when she turned 14 she could get one, and I agreed so at least that put an end to the argument but not the pouting. Especially when her big sister came out in her new acquisition showing it off and modeling it. Any other dads/moms out there have a similar experience? Not a single dad, but wifey is out of town on business for a couple of weeks so I had to handle this one on my own.

sounds like ur sending mixed messages.
ur either a "naturist family" or ur not. which means that a thong suit would be ok with u and the wife, so then I guess the only problem is - they don't sell those for a 9 yr old???
lol

by any chance is this dave the nudist asking?

hmmmm

so u end up moving out of moms house, found a wifey and now have kids?

good for u!

Not a mixed message at all, the tourism doesn't fly in public or non-naturist areas! And yes they do sell them for 9 year olds actually, but as I said the wife and I decided they had to wait until they were 14 at least before they could have them. Naturism really doesn't enter into the question, I only mentioned it by way of explanation for the logical argument the young one made when trying to talk me into bending the rules for. it's making a rule the kids don't like and then sticking to your guns even though they pout and complain. And you must be thinking of someone else (perhaps my friend "PDX Dave" who also responded) my first name is not Dave, wife and I've been married for lots of years, all the kids are ours including the 14 year old! Believe it or not this was a serious post!

ok so this is a serious post, not sure what ur question is really. if u made a rule, then its a rule that u should stick with and not give in to the younger child.
kids pull all kinds of "guilt" tricks and that's all this really is. she thinks she'll get ur permission and now its up to u IF she will or not.
ur the dad!

u do realize this subject of wearing a thong when u just said ur family are nudist, does seem rather silly. and makes it sound like a joke..

ok, separate your lifestyle from raising girls... imho a "tween" is much too young to wear a thong.. PERIOD.. let alone the 9 year old.. a cute bikini , sure why not,,,its never too early to teach the kids to work it for the greater good....
as far as the ,, well daddy, you show your penis in public,,, I got nuttin for ya...

OMG!!...A Bikini.. for a 14 year old!!!.. ONE PIECE and NO TALKIN' BACK!!...As far as the NUDIE HOUSE RULES apply... C'MON..YOUR daughters are Maturing.. their private bod parts are changing..!!!..Have some RESPECT for them.. JUST because YOU and your Ole' Lady looooove to parade around NUDE...THAT'S YOUR CHOICE!!.. DON'T Lay your Choices on your Kids!!..Children are curious by nature... Meaning just because Daddy struts his NEKKID AZZ ..Flaunting his thingy about...THEY may approach their CRUSH of a stranger and ASK to see their thingy...WHAT do ya think the consequences WOULD Be..Therapy for years to come!!!..

Bottom Line...PERVERTED POP...on the Loose!!

do3 - Don't worry or at least don't fret over it I sometimes feel your pain, I run into frustration because people do not read for the content or intent, they seem to scan the words and jump to a conclusion or just miss the point. I sent you a link to a different forum site which I usually inhabit, you cannot read or post anonymously you have to have an account and when you sign-up they verify with your email address, you don't run into the trolls and other stuff that topix has sometimes. Give it a try and I'll see you there, screen name is the same. Mahalo!

All females should wear dresses to all events outside of the house, period. Kids can swim just fine in dresses.

Makes me glad I have all boys. They could care less what they swim in and no one else cares either.
