I am self employed. I can't afford healthcare nor the tax associated with not having healthcare. I surely can't afford to pay for your healthcare.

Thanks to your president and a few before him, this economy sucks and there are few good jobs that provide what you're begging for.

<quoted text>So, I suppose, if you were to get ill or be in an accident, you would refuse any medical service because you are uninsured, right?

I have news for you, YOU ALREADY PAY for it.
So since I already pay for it, that makes it okay to make me pay for even more?

Uh, no. No one said anything about you paying for it 'more.' You already pay for it now.

We had a nice system. If you were healthy, you paid through the nose for coverage (Injuries from that method NOT covered though). If you were sick, you were a bad person, NOT deserving of coverage. Everyone else was free to use the ER as primary care. This was paid for by taxes and higher insurance premiums.

We WERE the envy of the world! Well, OK, the 3rd world...but, we weren't communist socialists so, there was that.

But universal healthcare will increase what I already can't afford.
Look, it's clear that some want their "free" healthcare, regardless of who it hurts.
I just can't go along with that.

If you can't afford it then you'll be paying just what you are now - with the bonus of actually having healthcare. You're lucky, you get it for 'free.'

Just use the old taxes from the Postal Service.
The USPS has not directly received taxpayer-dollars since the early 1980s with the minor exception of subsidies for costs associated with the disabled and overseas voters. Since the 2006 all-time peak mail volume,[7] after which Congress passed the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act",

If I could not afford a lawyer, the last thing I want is one forced to represent me.

The best decision I'll make is to stay out of illegal situations.

Rocket Science doesn't require an education and offer benefits?
