Everybody loves a Government freebie so long as somebody else is paying for it. That type of mentality is in big part responsible for the mess we are in with the national debt.

Oh, I know, but they could be. And they should be. No reason to keep an outmoded data source like USPS.
In the long run, it would be less of a tax burden then the black hole that is the Post Office. Phase it out, replace it, private companies can pick up the slack.

Trying to show her how to use any new technology is an uphill battle. I'm not sure she knows how to enter the time on her microwave yet. Like many seniors when she gets frustrated she will simply not use it.
All takes is a generation to die off and then everyone will embrace the technology.

Left to their own, and without the burden of prepaying retirements for the next bazillion years, they wouldn't be quite in the quandary they are in. But the writing is on the wall, regardless.

If they stopped medicare they could kill two birds with one stone.
I am be facetious for those who don't know my humor.

There will remain outliers in this country no matter what. Locally we have German Brethren (like the Amish but drive autos and semi trucks) they still don't use phones.

I think that if anyone is to receive free wifi, they should first be drug tested. Spending a few million on that could potentially save thousands.

First they would provide it.
Then they would tax for it.
Then they would monitor and police it.
Then they would limit it.

No thanks, I'll buy my own.

Oh please.

We can't even get Universal Health Care.

And that's a basic necessity of life.

If ppl want free wifi go to McDonalds
or an internet Cafe.

I don't know how it could be less of a tax burden. The USPS hasn't been funded by taxes since the early 70's.

Didn't the Senate agree to an $11 billion bailout to the post office last year? Or something like that?

4 multi-billion dollar bailouts since 2003 says otherwise.

If the government provides it, then they can control it.

I challenge anyone to name a truly successful government program.

Since the USPS is currently over a billion dollars in the hole, who is finding it?

Sorry, I shan't be digging up a link for you.

Universal healthcare would be even less successful than the USPS.
