As a guy who frequents nightclubs, all I can say about it being the man's job to ask the ladies to dance with him on the dance floor at nightclubs is insane, rediculous, and is a disaster waiting to happen! It does NOT matter how nicely, politely, or courteously a guy asks a woman to dance; it is still a precariously dangerous situation that can carry catastrophic consequences such as getting kicked out of the club, forbidden to ever go back there again, and yes, even a jail term (for the man) can not be ruled out.

In America, when a man asks a woman to dance with her, even in a friendly way such as "Would you like to dance with me?" it automatically sends immediate thoughts of "Rapist! Sex predator! Serial killer!" and other similar thoughts running right through the woman's mind. Even bystanders are known to take heavy offense to a guy asking a lady to dance with him at nightclubs. Same thing goes for wedding receptions, graduation parties, and any type of event that has dancing.

Ladies, guys are not always going to ask you to dance with them, and they are growing tired of asking you to dance, so if you want to dance with guys at nightclubs, you ladies really need to strengthen up and ask the guys to dance with you!

So..... I think he's a little spooked by girls. I mean a dude can only stand so much rejection. Especially if he looks like he just came outta the swamp. QUACK!!!

Back in my day..YES!, The Hip ROCKIN' 60's...Chicks danced with Chicks..The Dudes were drinking and chatting about sports..

When a MAN asks a Woman to dance..IT's usually to "JUST DANCE"..
.
Now, if you are Slooow Dancing.. and he GROPES ya..then..YOU have Every right to SLAP him.

But usually it's a FAST DANCE... Then you say THANK YOU..

It is the decision of the Chick.

So many clueless posters here! If you were to work at any nightclub, I can easily bet that you would be surprised at how many guys every night likely get that dreaded "Okay, you're gonna have to leave!" response from club security even within as little as a minute of a simple and harmless "Would you like to dance with me?" to a woman, even a first time asking.

I've not done the "club scene" for quite a while. But I'm thinking you need a new approach and attitude. Personally I'm into the Cro-Magnon thing. The wife LOVED it back then. Its worked for 30+ years so far. More women fascinate about Conan the Barbarian than Don Knotts......(It helps to have the Bod to pull it off, just saying....)

Dunno the deal here, don't go clubbing hardly at all but when me and the bff's go out like that, we ask guys to dance all the time, and guys ask us and have yet to get mad at them and get them bounced. it's all in how your asked, and how you decline if you're too tired or whatever. Just some advice, don't look too smarmy like a "nightclub crawler" just look like a regular guy (avoid the shiny shirts and white shoes, LOL) And also don't try to be Cool Hand Luke like some smooth operator when you approach a girl. Trust me, we can spot 'em a mile away! It's just the normal guys being genuine get to be out there with this girl when she's shakin' it [grins]!

And then get thrown out of the club by security, or worse, arrested and thrown in jail about a minute later! That kind of statement will get you thrown out so fast your head will spin like a pinwheel in a hurricane. In many parts of the country, that manner of asking a woman to dance will even get the guy arrested and thrown in jail! I am critically serious, man! It's not even funny at all!

Many guys won't even ask the ladies anymore because they know what will happen if they do; ejection from the club, and yes, even the possibility of jail. It has gotten so bad, it is not even appropriate at all anymore for the guy to ask the lady to dance. It is, nowadays, the Ladies' job to ask the Guys to dance with her!

Then I suggest making a sign that says "Please ask me to dance, I would love to dance with you" and hold it up. This way you are not directly asking anyone and it lets them know your intentions.

I love to dance! And I think our fella is full of bologna. Dance clubs are made for dancing and if you ask someone to dance you will not be thrown out.

They'll throw you out for that, too.

Face it, everyone! It is the LADIES' job to ask the GUYS to dance with them on the dance floor!

If the ladies do not perk up and ask the guys, then all nightclubs nationwide will remain totally forbidden to all single/lone guys!

Okay, this is how this works. A chick gets asked to dance or asks a guy if he wants to dance.
She understands her words. "Dance". "Yes, I will dance" "would you like to dance".

A guy asks a chick to dance or hears a chick ask him if he wants to dance.
All he asks or hears is. "pants". As in, "can I get in your pants" or "do you want to get in my pants".

Chicks and guys...say and hear two different things.
