Did you know that the Katrina screwup was president obamas fault? Yep. One third of Louisiana republicans blame him and not bush for that. If a whole third of Louisiana republicans believe it, it must be true.

What is with the prez delaying and "thinking"? Aren't there dozens of contingency plans for stuff like this? Just pick one, any one. Maybe he picked #47-Dither and wait, make a few stupid comments to the public. or #69-Just sit back and et the Iranians take control.

"Vainglorious fool"? I was thinking more along the lines of something that drips out of the south end of a northbound wombat but hey, vainglorious fool works for me.

Might it be that he picked #1? Assess the situation, weigh the options, look for possible non military options. Or he could go with the rights option.

Just seems like some people saw this coming, but Obama and his administration are completely surprised by it and don't know what to do. Mulling over drone strikes for a few days seems like too little too late. A few well placed airstrikes could have taken the momentum out of these Islamic militants and maybe spared the cities from being taken over. There certainly would have been some civilian casualties, but the civilian casualties will be even higher with the Islamic militants taking over and becoming entrenched. Iraqi Christians and Shiites will be slaughtered if they cannot flee in time. I don't want our boys on the ground over there anymore either, but the Iraqis are not quite ready to handle their own business yet. Now Obama is mulling over teaming up with the Iranians! How smart is that? Just sayin'

Careful now - you risk the danger of confusing them with logic.

He teamed up with the Iranians long ago when he decided to let them go ahead with their nuclear program.

Actually dipshit, Louisianans put the blame where it rightfully lays, on dipshit Ray Nagin, and former Governor dipshit Blanco. Both of whom should be sitting in a cell block for their dipshittiness. Even though both got away with the Katrina fcuk-up, it is a bit satisfying to see that Ray Nagin will be getting his due for other crimes, and very soon. Perhaps he should get some tips from Geno and Ferret on proper lubrication before gets to his cell block.
Is that THE Ray Nagin who proudly proclaimed his racism when he said, "We're gonna make this city chocolate again!"?

If he's really going to jail, it couldn't happen to a "nicer" guy. I hadn't heard about that. What's he being charged with?

Convicted in Jan/Feb this year of taking bribes for city contracts.

I believe sentencing is sometime next month.

Good. The guy was a scumbag. No surprise he was crooked too. Now if only they could work on the city "leaders" in Chicago. And next stop - the White House.

I was on the golf course thinking about what I should do regarding: the VA, the IRS, Benghazi, our one legged health care program, Iraq, Iran, the election, turning 5 terrorists loose upon the world, the election, the electorate, the election, the sorry economy, printing money with both hands, the election, and decided I would campaign some more in California (it is the only thing I really know how to do. Besides ignoring a problem til it is replaced with another one, ad nauseum), play some more golf, then campaign some more. Who wants to be in DC? Those people expect me to DO something.

And it came to me, right out of the blue! The answer!

I might be leading the nation into World War III, but I can still claim it is Dubya's fault, and all of you are racists.

The 08 presidential election was mostly about the war in Iraq. There was not enough public support for a war then and there's not now.

The reason the president didn't want to use drones is a fear of pissing off the civilians having them join with the insurgants then making thing worse?

The thing that people forget is that Iraq- much like the US- is full of human beings. Their purpose in life is NOT to live and die by the will of US politicians anymore than by Iraqi politicians. This is a game for Lindsey Graham and all but, it is there lives at stake. They were better off under Saddam Hussein. As bad as GW Bush was for us, he was worse for them.
It's almost a capitial offence to say this, but the war in Iraq is all about cheap oil. Anybody that don't agree with that statement is a damnfool
