When I moved to Florida back in 97 I moved in with my brother and had funds to the point I wasn't overly anxious to get another job. I was browsing through the want ads and was looking through the Drivers Wanted. As it turns there were these two women that wanted someone to drive them cross country in an RV.
For four weeks we traveled and our final destination was the Grand Canyons. My most memorable event was when we were in New Mexico somewhere ... WHITE SANDS??? Anyhow, I had parked the RV right in the middle of these sand dunes and took several pictures. It looked like I was in a New England blizzard. It was awesome.
I've done much traveling just to see the country as much as I was able ... I camped out mostly, but there were times I got caught in some serious storms and the campsites were knocked down making it necessary to stay in hotels.
Oh, yeah. There are sights to see.

And along the way, I remember quite a few people whose name I don't know or no longer recall.

There were a few who gave me the stink eye (20 dollars on 1 and I'll be out of here and back on the Interstate in a couple of minutes) but many were strikingly positive and helpful.

I guess there's a bit of luck involved if you travel.

The US East Coast states are pretty much the same from the car window until you get into Florida.

Take a trip to the Rockies front range. Your jaw will drop when see them even as you go into the mountains.

Go further west and see the US desert regions. Then you begin to understand why water is such a big deal.

And take one more hop. Dip your toe in the Pacific ocean (brrr! it's gonna be cold.). Just to say you did.

And along the way, you will meet many people. I'm guessing most will be good and there will be some bad.

But my information may be out of date. It's been at least a decade since I've gone cross country and I'm not sure how much TV has inspired hostility to strangers.
