Nothing like keeping a poll on topic (LOL). More off topic posters than poll results...now that is really something.

We are going to see a lot more tightening of laws like this especially if immigration reform passes. Those prison cells aren't going to fill themselves! Privatization of prisons have made prisons a hugely successful business. Drunk drivers and potheads are excellent products! But, like the guy above said: "We're free as long as we have our guns."

Thank you (and I won't mention who) for the link to bring me up to snuff. Dragoon failed to answer my question. Now I know why LMAO. And no it wasn't Ferrerman or FlaCatOwner who tipped me.
That is Flbadcatowner (LOL). Don't forget to give my ornery 15 year old cat his due. The old boy still has my 55 pound dog terrorized.

I remember when the big TABOO was talking on your cell phone.
OMG....we have to outlaw that.
So we did.
Then came texting while driving.
Cant have that, it's too distracting.
So now texting while driving is pretty much universally outlawed.
Oh wait...now hands free devices are too much of a distraction. Well crap!
We need another law by golly.
Changing the radio station...cant have that, God knows how distracting that can be.
MUST REMAIN FOCUSED!
Outlaw changing radio stations, eating a breakfast biscuit, drinking a cup of coffee, looking over at your kid or telling the brats in the back seat to cut the sh*t out. THINKING ABOUT WHAT'S FOR DINNER!!!
Holy Sh*t!!!
Now the NTSB is trying to tell us WE HAVE TO REDEFINE DRUNK DRIVING....05 NEEDS TO BE THE NEW LIMIT!
You realize you can hit of that with a single glass of wine with dinner, or for that matter a shot of Robatussin Cough Syrup.
When is common sense gonna take hold here and state ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
Im not an advocate of drunk driving.
I am an advocate of personal responsibility and I sure as hell don't need Big Brother telling me...youre over 60 - you need to be in bed by 9!
"If not we're gonna find you guilty of irresponsibility and fine you your entire social security check."
It's a scam!
Just like red light cameras, crosswalk cameras, speeding cameras, rolling stop sign cameras...the list goes on and on! It's all an incredible money making scam!!!
"When we cant tax you, we'll fine you!!!!"
And for you people na´ve enough to buy into this crap ... as Forest Gump said, "stupid is as stupid does!"

http://www.madd.org/statistics/

MADD says 1.4 million people are arrested for DUI in a year (that's under the current 0.08BAC standard).

MADD says there are about 112 million cases annually of someone drinking 'too much'(not explained is what that means) and getting behind the wheel.

MADD says going to 0.05BAC 'could' save 1,000 deaths per year (nothing to substantiate the claim).

So already, the legal system is swamped with millions of arrests and by halving the permitted BAC they expect to save just 1,000 lives.

What this amounts to is someone goes out to dinner, has two glasses of wine gets a 0.05BAC and becomes another DUI statistic.

0.00BAC is an excellent idea but the cost/benefit of 0.05BAC as the new limit is simply insanity.

I am not sure if I fully agree with you, but at least you gave reasons for your position instead of some pointless babble. we won't always agree, but I can respect the fact that you tried to post something that at least sounds intelligent.
