Imagine my surprise when I just googled the Mills Bros and discovered they too were a black group! I'll have to demote myself....I am no longer the rainman of rock and roll.

I can't complain, but sometimes I still do, lifes been good to me, so far.

Some tie ago my wife heard the Mills Brothers on the radio, and she too thought they sounded white. At one time, the Mills Brothers were said to have made more recordings than anyone else.

I hope this doesn't drive you to drastic measures, but the Mills Brothers also recorded The Java Jive.

Sirius XM - channel 4.

Actually I ride a rickshaw, and I get audio tapes of Charlie Chan and Mister Moto.

I like that channel too....they confisticated it and played Christmas music on it recently...boo 71 is good too, if you like Sinatra. stay away from the 40's, unless you like music about bitches and hoes, etc. 21 is a good place to find weird stuff, but also good for obscure beatles, stones, kinks, etc. 25-26 good oldies, along with 5 and 6. you already knew this.

naw, channels 40 thru about 48 are hard corps rap. The dawg on your profile would howl to be put out of his misery if you made him listen to that shit. I did used to like some rap, or maybe it was called hip hop....Tupac, Biggie, Snoop, Nate G, Sugar Hill gang, blondie(oops) flashmaster flash, or whatever his name was.

some good lyrics too....match the lyrics with the artist noted above.
"It's all good, from Diego to the Bay"
"cause I see some ladies tonite that should be havin my baby...baby"
"bow wow wow yippy yo yippy yay"
"next stop, Eastside motellllllll"
"hotel, motel,holiday inn"
"he eats caddilacs, lincolns mercurys and subarus"
"don't push me cause I'm close to the edge, I'm trying not to lose my head"

i'll concede my title as the hip hop honky, if you can handle this trivia.

Whew! I thought you were referring to the 1940's. My biggest problem with Ch. 4 is that they play the same stuff over and over. The choices among the 40's (and beyond) are virtually endless. They ought to be consulting you and me.

You haven't lived until you've heard Snoop Dog (Lion? Tarantula?) "sing" Doggie in the Window. You might have preferred it that way.

I'll do it this way -

"Babylon was a gold cup in the LORD's Hand; she made the whole Earth drunk. The nations drank her wine; therefore they have now gone mad."
Jeremiah 51:7
