My old dog is last legging it. And have the son's puppy pretty much daily. Am going to get another, or forgo pets and pack up the car with camera in tow.

Will see when the old dog hits the ground.

As a dog lover, this story just broke my heart. Thank goodness the cute little fella survived. I'm with DC. I would love to have this pup! I already have 3 dogs, but what's one more? I can imagine that a lot of people will be lined up wanting him!

I have a dog myself, and I appreciate your concern for the dog. I wouldn't go as far as necessarily wanting to adopt him as I have a preference for dogs that are in the 50 to 60 pound range who are good watchdogs and I know little about the dog. I lost a dog to cancer last year at about age 13 who was an excellent watchdog with an strong appearance who looked like she meant business and would bark her head off at any noise she heard or if any stranger came to the house, but would settle down quickly if she realized the coast was clear and that the visitor was a welcome guest. She taught my other dog well the fine points of being a good watch dog.

Sorry to hear about your old dog. Pets just don't seem to live long enough. In less than two years, I have buried a 13 year old dog a 13 year old cat and a 15 year old cat. I recently got a little kitten who really seems to like her new home and gets along well with the dog.

Your pets lived a long life. My dog is 12. Animals come and go. Over the years I have learned this well. Life changes, and that which is within it..changes as well.

Glad to hear you are enjoying your new kitten. Sweet!

I have a 15 year old male cat who is still doing reasonably well. I can only hope he has a few more good years left in him. He appears to be part Abyssinian which tends to be one of the longer lived breeds of cat.
