i don't understand why "americans" under estimate the foreingers and look down upon us as if we're not all breathing the same air..we all have the same feelings and most importantly we are HUMAN BEINGS just like them, yet they think they're so much better...now i know there are open minded "americans" that don't see skin color as a factor but those are very very VERY few..so the umm what you could say "racist" ones ruin it for the nice ones..and what people don't realize is that just cause there's one bad seed in a bunch doesn't mean all of them are bad... now i know it's in everyone's genes that here and there they think or become racist BUT it goes to a limit some know theirs others don't...then they say things like "go back where you came from" calling us names and such telling us to "go learn english and read" WTF...that just creates more hatred..and racism and WARS....can't we all just get along??!!!! i guess not

It will take a lot of work from both sides. Hopefully some day but I won't hold my breath.

Are Americans treated in the same fashion in your homeland? That's the million dollar question...I've been around the world twice and visited well over 20 countries, and I've got to tell you the only time I've ever been treated nicely is when they can see the $20 bills hanging out of my pockets. I'm not biased or racist, I just don't understand what it is people expect sometimes.

Only a few comments but I think you will see what I am saying..
The United States is such an open place, we tolerate most anything here. I was born and raised here so I am an American, anyone that goes through the process of citizenship also becomes an American. I feel they have the exact same so called rights to the laws and discipline of the people here in the US. Our country allows many freedoms that many other countries do not and our laws are almost too flexible to accommodate those that are not citizens. What I am saying is as a whole I really do not see what you are trying to say.
Your statement is biased from a standpoint of you sound as if you are not a citizen and are saying that 'Americans' are all alike..I think this is what you are asking me as an American not to do, or asking why I would..see how easily it happens?

I do not think this country has too many bad things going, the one thing I do know is as far as language, our legal system provides for those that have not chosen to learn our language, Our businesses have actually done the same thing, not all of us learn other languages but if I say went to Germany or France I would at least try to learn some basics or how to ask for a translator.
You are right about people, it is sad, but we are not so evolved as some would have us believe, we may never be but the more stereotypes that get fed into the mix the worse it gets. This has been going on since man first learned to hit each other with sticks. I hope your childrens children have a better world than we live in, if we leave one to live in.
Good topic MS.

sorry can't answer that question cause i was born here, but i'm sure over there because they hardly see americans they wouldn't be like "you american go back home now" they'd be more amazed that an american would actually be there...i have to admit that is a good question..i would like to know myself..but if they are treated the way we are here honestly i would like to know how they feel about it and what do they think about those people afterwards...one drop of poison is all it takes to infect the whole pool...but that doesn't mean we are all that way, at least give one another a chance before hating simply because of skin color

i understand where you're coming from and thank god there are those who think like you, i can tell that you are the few who do have an open mind about other nationalities...who may have a few good friends that are foreigners...i am a citizen born and raised here in the U.S. but because i am who i am i get the short end of the stick..i would expect for you not to understand cause you don't go through what us foreigners go through, you don't get the eyes starring you down, the way they speak to you as if you're illiterate as if you're not nothing..i know not all of them are like that but let's say you went to place where the population were of minorities and 4 out of 5 places you went to they treated you with no respect and frowned you down would you come back home thinking oh these people are so nice it's just my luck i met the bad ones...or would you already hold a grudge against those of their kind...even though you know they're all not like that ..and be honest to yourself...

So you're saying that you are racially profiled because of the color of your skin, right? And "we Americans" are the guilty ones even though you were born an American...hmmmm...try moving to South Africa - the hatred and seperation of color there is 10 time worse than it is here. But, I can see your point - it's an age old arguement that'll never go away I'm afraid. But if you want change, try starting at home. I've got many friend of different nationalities - some not even Americans - like you said, a single drop infests - try a little sugar instead of poison for a change.

yes yes that's so...honestly people want to come here because it's sooo "free" and other great stuff...
and the sad thing most of them say they're ready to go back...being here and experiencing all the hate they just want to go back...i honestly like it here, but only in the good ol ghetto where i'm at...cause there neighbors speak to you because they like you not cause they feel thay have to...
try going to the burbs and they go inside lock all their doors and stay in till we leave..wtf ..how's that suppose to make us feel..

trust me i do my best to always have a smile where ever i go..but what can you do when you smile at someone and they flick you off...keep smiling like there's nothing wrong...oh believe me i do not want my kids growing up having to go through this...yes i have friends of all cultures and i except them for who they are...

and no i'm not saying all americans are responsible it's just if i met a black person vs a white person the racial tension would be more between me and the white person due to the fact that the black person is looked at differently also..you know what i mean...ugh this is so hard to explain i hope you understood what i just said cause...
and i do have respect for all people..until they give me a reason not to..you know i'll give people a chance and if they don't like me because of skin color then i feel sorry for them cause those type are the type who cause more trouble..

Thank you for your kind words.
I completely understand what you are saying. I won't guess your family heritage but I believe I already know. I have been to quite a few countries in my life but the thought of eyes on me was never stronger than when I was in Japan. I was dating a woman there and we went to a china factory in Nagasaki. Yeah, I do get it..
We can only hope it changes.
Be well and safe.

I go through life's journey not expecting a smile in return - when I do get one, it's the journey's reward, not an exception. You can't expect to erase the hatred in one day, one year or ten years. Pick your paths wisely and know your steps you take. Life's too short to worry about another person's hatred. It sounds like you're a very nice person - someone I can call a friend.

Ive read the exchange here between you and several of those Ive known for a while and call friends. I gotta be honest with you, I dont know whether to be angry about your lack of thankfulness that youre BORN an American Citizen as opposed to the alternatives, or perhaps be understanding of your question, your obvious hurt at what youve perceived as racial bias towards you. Im going to make an assumption here that youre relatively young and being such havent yet completely found your true sense of identity. Please- I dont mean that in a negative way. I mean that in a sense that youre still searching ...
People who are self confident are not easily "stared down" especially now a days, regardless of their heritage. People who know who and what they are and what they have to offer the world are not easily intimidated by others. And thats what Im sensing here from you.
I despise racial bias, yet am admittedly guilty of it. I have a real problem with illegal immigrants in this country. If youre a citizen of this country then I call you brother/sister regardless of your skin color. If youre in this country legally - I say WELCOME.

I really think its your perspective that might need adjusting and not the perspective of the American people.....especially since youre one of us.
