Yeah, yeah, yeah - everybody's got it tough, right?
Look - if she did complain about her work after she retired, she was in the wrong profession, IMO.
And if you were in the teaching profession, you could not carry a gun - schools are gun-free zones.
A handgun is useless against a semi-automatic rifle. By the time you've drawn your weapon he's already "double-tapped" you.
Life ain't like the movies - having a clear shot at your advasary (sp?) in any gunfight is a pipe dream.
Really!life ain't like the movies?DUH, like I have'nt lived 58yrs to know that. A handgun is a chance to survive then no handgun at all. It depends on IF the shooter sees you. Trouble getting "out of the classroom" to broaden the discussion? You still have no idea on how to disarm criminals. EVEN if a ban on guns takes place the criminals will still have thiers. So,you want us defenseless. What genius plan you have to achieve that?

Nothing here but a bunch of fake Kenyan bullshit. Kind of like what we're getting out of Washington these days.

Exactly. Even a guy with an asualt gun is one person that can't aim at everyone, has only two eyes versus several teachers-whatever number of faculty a school would have.

Do you really believe that??
Seriously. 101 ways that scenario could/would go wrong.

My guess a kid would still get shot! And not only do have one gun men in a class room. Now you'd have 2.

If patriotic Americans were to put away their guns - they would be giving up their freedom to hoodlums, miscreants and thugs who won't give up their guns. Then where would we be?

My views are the same as yours. Recently I been hearing talk about why a person takes to killing people. Finally this is being addressed.

This is from 1993, but still relevant to today.

http://jim.com/cowards.htm

Here is a small exerpt from it.

By any rational measure, nearly all gun control proposals are hokum. The Brady Bill, for example, would not have prevented John Hinckley from obtaining a gun to shoot President Reagan; Hinckley purchased his weapon five months before the attack, and his medical records could not have served as a basis to deny his purchase of a gun, since medical records are not public documents filed with the police. Similarly, California's waiting period and background check did not stop Patrick Purdy from purchasing the "assault rifle" and handguns he used to massacre children during recess in a Stockton schoolyard; the felony conviction that would have provided the basis for stopping the sales did not exist, because Mr. Purdy's previous weapons violations were plea-bargained down from felonies to misdemeanors.

Now that's "justice" speaking!
Perhaps it is justice, by definition, I happen to think it should be. I do get tired of listening to attacks on our 2nd amendment rights by people expressing their 1st amendment rights all while the court system completely disregards and corrupts our 8th amendment rights telling us it is cruel or painful to kill those people that are killing people...

It was a point of interest to me during the last election that Romney, not the best candidate the Reps could have put up, but, one of the pieces of legislature he sought and dropped because of opposition in his state dealt with getting rid of this stigma about the costs of putting these people to death. Odd it really isn't as popular as it should be. I really can't imagine anyone could be for keeping killers alive and paying to do so.

I agree, but I also believe it's the only way to manage 330+ million people. Our's is a society of compassion and rehabilitation - it's always been that way. Face it - everybody feels good when you watch "The Birdman of Alcaraz," right?
Actually, no, I thought Burt's performance was weak..but..I digress,,

The Federal Govt job is not to manage it is to insure domestic tranquility, the macro is left to the states and local govt's..the moment we as a people begin to hand the federal more jurisdiction it becomes apparent that they are in over their heads..look at the mess healthcare is headed down...do you believe anything good is going to come from it..?..and that is just one thing.

Try not to let that opposition take the argument to the bottom line, Many just want some answers why their kids are being shot up, others don't really care about their kids but want a piece of the band wagon, and still others just like riding on any wagon they think their voice matters on...lots of smoke & mirrors tends to fool the foolish just because it makes em feel they got a show..

Pretty smart observation :) Gun can be used for good or bad. If only criminals have guns then we will be in a gun free zone for good people
