Again, that's California - not ALL schools, not only in California - but the United States, have fences around them.
Again, it's like you truly believe you're talking to someone who's never seen a school before.
I know you have sen a school before, I just don't know if you ever entered one and learned anything.
I have stated twice now and will for the last time, that I did not know how it was in other States, but in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA (wish I could underline it), this is how the school districts solve the problem.

What does a school clear across the State have to do with Los Angels County, or Bellflower Unified School District. I did not say the entire State fenced out the unwanted interlopers.

I say a great map of the most crimes in all the states. It looks just like the vote map. High crime rates in states that went for Obama

try this.
https://maps.google.com/
type in Mayfair High school Lakewood Ca.
go to street view and tell me if you see the security fencing between the buildings.

The try ester lindstrom and tell me if the fences are only around the playground/

Now type in bellflower high school bellflower ca and see if I was wrong about the fences surrounding the ENTIRE facility.

should I keep going, or can you admit that just maybe i might know what i am talking about.

You're assuming many things - as does the NRA.
Now, let me get some basics in. You're assuming that:
1. The teacher can shoot - accurately and not hit another teacher or student.
2. That there would be at least one teacher who was not teaching at the time and was actually waiting for someone to break into school with a loaded gun.
3. Shooting someone with a handgun will drop them like an assault rifle. I've seen a guy run for 3-1/2 blocks after he was shot with a handgun and was still standing, waiting for the ambulance - not so much with an assault rifle.
4. That the "perp" would announce his entrance like a Hollywood movie star at the Oscars. He would probably not be wearing a paper target on his chest either.
You watch waaaaaay too much TV. Shooting to kill someone is not like it looks like on TV or the movies. The real world is not black and white. Shooting and killing someone has rattled even the best cops throughout history. It's not anything like posting testosterone-laden posts on a public forum.
you think you're not assuming? Your post show you:re fixated on one school shooting of 20 kids, where I'm posting on a wider scale. I watch little tv by the way
I don't have cable or sattellite. Just a digital decoder, get 18 channels. So there is'nt much to watch. See how you make assumtions? Yes,some can be shot and still do things. Depends on where a person is shot. Still you won't address what I said before. How would you disarm criminals before lawadiding citizens guns are taken away? Hot to disarm them first. Till then guns are needed to protect ourselves from them.

I hate cop shows, gangster, war. I don't see those categories as entertainment. Too much of it. Why I don't watch much tv. I'm against "glorifying" shows of violence. However, those types of productions are made and become popular just as is with rap music, video games. So we as a society have to go about our daily lives with 'easily suggestive" mentally ill people who see such shows as a course of action to impliment. These people show signs of warning. I myself was shot at years ago by such a person in 1986. The guy missed. I was on a job doing roofing when a guu took shots at I and others working. Directly across the street was a multi-level parking structure he was shooting from. I had the ecperience of having been shot at. If I had a gun to return shots. Most likly he'd run, even without hitting him because of the gunfire woilf draw attention. He was caught about 45mins later. Of course this is a short version of events.

<quoted text> ok,I see I have to be as basic as I can. Suppose a principal or teacher had a gun (licensed to carry one) seen a person with a weapon enter school. That gun could have saved those 20 students. And for sake of argument-such an occurance happened, principal/teacher shot such a person entering thiet school with a weapon. Would you be glad that person was shot before killing any studentd? Cannada has as many guns. Do you hear of any news of school shootings there? Or of gund being used for crimes? The U.S. has the hiighest crimes by firearms than Canada. This shows there is a physch problem as to WHY a person does this. Take away guns, criminals will still have them-use them. You have't addressed that on my previous post. I'll be 100% for a gun ban when/if all the guns criminals have are confiscated. Any ideas to achieve that?
There's been a couple of mass shootings here that I remember in my lifetime. In 1989, a woman hater shot dead 14 women at a engineering college in Montreal. Just a few yrs ago, again in Montreal, some nut started shooting at Dawson College wounding many and killing 2.

Because of such actions, the liberal govt back then decided Canada needed a long gun registry. Before those incidents, we never had to register long guns(hunting rifles etc...)It didn't make sense because in both those shootings, hunting rifles were not used. Secondly, hunting rifles have been owned by law abiding Canadians for generations with no major problems....so why pick on law abiding people because of a few shootings? Thirdly, the liberal govt back then said the registry would only cost $25 mill to set up... then it was $50 mill...in the end the final cost was over $2 billion. Liberals here have problems in public accounting.

Thank goodness our current conservative govt got rid of this silly long gun registry. It solved nothing because there were no major probs to begin with. The liberal long gun registry was a quick knee jerk reaction without any thinking.

Lastly, most gun crime here happens in the cities, done by gangbangers and drive bys. All of the Canadians who own long guns, some handguns, and even some with semi-auto weapons in their possessions never or rarely cause a problem. We all know who are the gangbangers etc...

I agree. As a Canadian, I am always concerned about what happens in the US because what happens next door does affect us, but only children make demands like that. A bit presumptuous.

The title of this reads kind of off....

The way It comes across is that everyone who owns a gun is nuts and will go bonkers and go on a shooting spree.

Which I really don't think is the case.

These aren't sane individuals that are doing these shootings.
These are whack jobs....

Again... With all the guns in US... It's doing pretty damn good.

I feel very sorry for the victims and their families. It's horrible. But it's not a gun owner that did this. It's a gun owner with a serious phscological issue.

Just saying....

Of course you should be concerned. However, someone clear across the globe shouldn't be concerned if we have firearms. It has no affect on him either way. I'm not a gun nutter by any means but I believe if we melt down all guns tomorrow, we will just resort to the next best thing for killing whatever that may be. As sickening as it is, killing is engrained in us. Those who succumb to it will act out no matter the weapon.

Completely agree. This goes far deeper than the gun but of course we don't talk about the person that pulled the trigger because he doesn't exist. It was the GUN that did it.
