I'll leave the mortal world behind,
Take wing in an flight fantastical,
With singing
, my eternal soul
Will rise up swan-like in the air.
Possessing two immortal traits,
In Purgatory I won't not linger,
But rising over jealousy
I'll leave behind me kingdoms' shine.
'Tis so! Though not renowned by birth,
I am the muses favorite,
From other notables a world apart-
I'll be preferred by death itself.
The tomb will not confine me,
I will not turn to dust among the stars,
But like a heavenly set of pipes,
My voice will ring out from the sky.
And now I see that feathered skin
My figure covers all around.
My breast is downy and my back is winged,
I shine with pearly swan-like white.
I fly, I soar-and see below
The world entire-- oceans, woods.
Like mountains they lift up their heads
To hear my lofty hymn to God.
From Kuril Islands to the river Bug,
From White Sea to the Caspian,
Peoples from half the world
Of whom the Russian race's comprised,
Will hear of me in time:
Slavs, Huns, the Scythians, and Finns,
And others locked today in battle,
Will point at me and they'll pronounce:
"There flies the one who tuned his lyre
To speak the language of the heart,
And preaching peace to the whole world,
Enjoyed the happiness of all."
Forget a big and stately funeral,
My friends! Cease singing, muses' choir!
My wife! With patience gird yourself!
Don't keen upon what seems a corpse.
Gavril Romanovich Derzhavin
And came from Russia, the most from that which the beauty of Art can be born.....

Ode to the taxpayer :

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he’s fed.

Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule.

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his ties,
Tax his shirt,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.

Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries,
Then tax his tears.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax, tax, tax, tax.

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won’t be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers,
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He’s good and sore.

Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he’s laid.

Put words upon his tomb,
“Taxes drove me to my doom…”

When he’s gone,
Do not relax,
It’s time to apply
The inheritance tax.

So Who Is To Be Sorry?

I'm Running Out of Time
Out of Outs
So much for lately
A Mistake
Is a Mistake
All Right

Never thought myself the taker
Nor the giver away
All donations I've far
Set aside

But my plan has far retired
Delinquent in vain
the ends have been found
And they're dwindling away.

Take it all underground now
Hidden talk: Playing games
With myself Sudden burial
Now I won't be look'n down

Do apologies count?
When its caused by the outs
Fooled in stubborn tenacity breathes
what's there to be Sorry about?
Once was crossed left Without
Inner Burnings are burnings Still
Your Down.

Don't Believe
Comes Between
Not to Be
Or to Be

So whose to be
So whose to be

Sorry?

Do You Sleep? By Lisa Loeb.

do you eat, sleep, do you breathe me anymore?
do you sleep, do you count sheep anymore?
do you sleep anymore?

do you take plight on my tongue like lead?
do you fall gracefully into bed anymore?

i saw you as you walked across my room.
you looked out the window, you looked at the moon.
and you sat on the corner of my bed, and
you smoked with the ghost in the back of my head.

i don't know, and i don't care
if i ever will see you again.
i don't know, and i don't care
if i ever will be there.

do you eat, sleep, do you breathe me anymore?
do you sleep, do you keep me anymore?

you kick my foot under the table,
i kick you back;
i can't say i'm able to
stand for you or
fall for you ever again.
wish for a perfect setting?
wishing that i am letting you
take me where you want me
all over again?
you can't give yourself absolutely to someone else.

i don't know, and i don't care
if i ever will see you again.
i don't know, and i don't care
if i ever will be there.

i saw you as you walked across my room.
you looked out the window, you looked at the moon.
and you sat on the corner of my bed, and
you smoked with the ghost in the back of my head.

do you eat, sleep, do you breathe me anymore?
do you sleep, do you count sheep anymore?
do you sleep anymore?

i don't know, and i don't care if i ever will be there.

To the International Community:

XLIII. "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways..."

by Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806-1861)

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints,--- I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life!--- and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

To Al Bundy:LOL!

Al Is our cyber lover,as he scans from thread to thread,
Often he embarasses me,with the words in which he's said.
Flirting with all the posters,a true player he's became,
So with this poem I honor him,as once again we play this game!

In real life he is a good man,but in cyber his mind does soar,
Searching all the threads for new prospects,as he had the days before.
Cybering for a new lover, may not be the best of plans,
Yet everyday on Offbeat, Al will begin to scan!

Do not fret my cyber lover, because we all just think you're great,
Hoping that you will read this poem, for this I cannot wait!
Inspired to write a poem, and I have dedicated it to you,
I hope that you will enjoy it,and brings you a big smile too!

LOL! I'm bad!

To AlL Who Have Lost A Loved One:
"When Taers Fall From Heaven"
When tears fall down from Heaven, and you hear the angels cry,
You will know my love that I had to leave you,for it was my time to die.
For God has called from Heaven,"Dear child your day has come",
"Lay all your cares aside now,for your work on this earth is done"!

My life on earth was troubled, and my savour he did know,
So he said unto me,"My child it's time to go",
I didn't want to leave you,but death I could not postpone,
For I could hear my savour calling,"Dear child, you must come home".

But I will wait in Heaven, until your time may come,
When you lay your cares aside, and all your work is done.
So when tears fall down from Heaven, and you hear the angels cry,
I'll be waiting at those pearlie gates,in our mansion in the skt!

"On The Wings Of Angels"

Upon the wings of angels,my beloved one,you did soar,
Never again to know the heartaches, which have plagued you,as before.
Visions of a happier you,are all that I now can see,
I know that have earned your wings, and now are waiting there for me.

Upon the wings of angels, with a smile upon your face,
I know that you are happier, than you could ever be,in this place.
Your savour is now waiting, for his new angel to come home,
Know that we will miss you,now that you are gone.

Upon the wings of angels,in a choir you now shall sing,
Enjoy now eternal life, which Heaven to you shall bring!
Missing you both day and night,so many tears I cry for you,
Waiting to hold you again, when I shall get to Heaven too!

...Thanks Queeny, you just made my day. So you think I am a player. I'm not really a player, but I would like to take my turn at bat with you. Someone on here wants to read some poetry, well they should read some of yours because I think you're great. Good night Queeny, I'll leave you one in the morning about 5 AM.

I should have been a plumber fixing drains.
And mending pure white bathtubs for the great Diogenes
(who scorned all lies, all liars, and all tyrannies),

And then, perhaps, he would bestow on me -- majesty!
(O modesty aside, forgive my fallen pride, O hidden
majesty,
The lamp, the lantern, the lucid light he sought for

All too often -- sick humanity!)

I should have been a beauty school drop out.
Tis what I truly wished to be.
But mommy said my education.
Must cost at least a fortune.

And then, perhaps, I would be bestowed with
Greatness and godly, worldly things
Of money and prestige
Of majesties, not manicures, nor pedicures and frilly things.

So here I sit, with lamp and mind
And pound my keyboard keys
But I wish my unplucked eyebrows
had those perfect arcs.

I have my Education.
I have my PHD.
I have my lucid Euclideean thoughts,
But I'm out of Mascara!!!!!!! Oh curse! Humanity!!!!!!!!

Dedicated to:Princess Ovo

"Friends"
You have now became the best friend, that I have ever known,
It's so good to have a friend like you,to call my very own.
You pick me up when I am down, you always brings some cheer,
So I am very glad "My Friend",that you ae always near!

Your smiling face and cheerful voice, can calm the strongest storm,
During my darkest hour of need, our friendship then was born.
You were my pillar of hope, when there seemed no hope in sight,
You were like unto my lighthouse, shining it's beam into the dark of night.

People should cherish their friends and loved ones,as I now cherish you,
During my most trying times, you helped me to get through.
True friends are few and far between, this we all do know,
So now that I have found you,I shall never let you go!

Ovo: You are a very dear friend, and I wish that others could know what a truly wonderful person that you are!

Whose wood this is I think I know:
He made it sacred long ago:
He will expect me, far or near
To watch that wood immense with snow.

That famous horse must feel great fear
Now that his noble rider's no longer here:
He gives his harness bells to rhyme
--Perhaps he will be back, in time?

All woulds were promises he kept
Throughout the night when others slept:
Now that he knows all that he did not know,
His wood is holy, and full of snow,
and all the beauty he made holy long long ago
In Boston, London, Washington,
And once by the Pacific and once in Moscow:
and now, and now
upon the fabulous blue river ever
or singing from a great white bough

And wherever America is, now as before,
and now as long, long ago
He sleeps and wakes forever more!

"0 what a metaphysical victory
The first day and night of death must be!"

"The Unknown Poets"
Words of the unknown poet, inspired by phrases or many things,
Although their lips are silenced,on paper their thoughts, they bring.
Happy words or sad words, you may learn of the poets thoughts,
For an inspirational time of hope, the poets words are sought.

Pouring out their words of thought,to all who may wish to read,
Sharing maybe but only a tender word,to those who are in need.
Words of the Unknown Poet, may help bring comfort to someone,
At last the Unknown Poets, have let their words be known.

Take but a single moment,to read the words in which they share,
Because the words of the Unknown Poets, are written
everywhere.
They share with you their feelings, and they share with you their dreams,
In the words of a simple poem,in which the Unknown Poets bring!

a poem that goes out to my closet hommie who passed exactly two years on this date. RIP LIL BRA' 1995-2008

To what did, to who we slid,
Running from the law, and coming inside trying to thaw.
From all the nights that we had to become tight.
You were not a blood brother but i loved you like one.
That one night, and that one fight, you told me to tell your family that you'd loved them.
I promised to you to have death on those who jumped you before your final breath.
I am sorry i failed you, and yet i hail to you every thing that i do.
LIL BRA' you were my world, once at your furneal i broke, i began to choke, i lost myself.
All the stuff we went through made me into a man.
I still can feel your breath against my cheek, as you cracked that final joke on my and me a geek.
I LOVE YOU "LIL BRA" 1995-2008
as i said i cant write poetry but i tried.

My heart wishes to cease this numbing feeling.
Totally scarred up and ripped apart by these painful beatings.
How much will I go through until my lungs stop breathing?
Cutting so deeply to watch my wrist weeping.
Taste the silence this devilish act is bringing,
all from the simple, yet powerful bleeding.
Room spinning as this blade slowly silences the screaming.
Everything goes hush except for the steadily slowing beating,
of my heart that's dying out from everything that has broken me.
