I watched it last night.

I am thinking the entire Hoffman crew is mildly mentally disabled. You'd think after 3 years they'd figure out how to mine gold. Every year they are a total cluster f' for 3/4 of the season (and it's not looking likey are going to get their shyte together at all this year).

Parker is a moron too. He makes me shake my head all the time. Half an hour to fix his stupid plant and he says, no ... we gotta keep it running. I know he's only 18, but he's been doing this stuff his whole life and around it. He should take a year off and work for Tony Beets ... it would be invaluable experience.

The Hoffman crew should pack up and go home to another claim! They have done nothing but waist time and everything they use breaks!
Parker demands so much respect without giving any to his crew! He should listen to Gene, he knows how to fix things and run 'big red'! Then theirs Tony Deets......he's not happy, because Parker isn't bringing in enough Gold!
Looking forward to next week and I love the Dakota boys'!

I look forward to it every week.

It seems to be an industry where experience is king. The Dakota boys are good, but that's because of Fred who has a lifetime of experience. If his son were running that outfit, I am pretty sure they would be up a creek (pun intended) too. Fred's not perfect, but his son always seems to have bad ideas that never work.

It would be so much fun to work with Dakota Fred! I would do it, as long as I don't break a nail...I'll have to wear gloves to protect my assets!

I've watched that show a few times and have decided the easiest way to get rich is to be Hoffmans equipment supplier. That guy must have already been rich to begin with to spend and experiment while constantly failing like he does. He's a tool.

There are a good amount of places to go panning where you're from.

I don't know how to drive a tractor thing, unless if it goes in a straight line only! So I would need someone who can drive one and dig a hole! I guess, mostly I can micromanage and I don't mind getting somewhat dirty, as long as I can wear gloves!

All you need is a small shovel and some pans, maybe a small sluice box. Run up to Piedmont and toil in the streams. Give the kid the shovel and some buckets and do the less rigorous concentrating while he digs dirt.
Sorry darlin' but that word micromanage, I can't stand to be micromanaged. I'd flip

I have to see what's going on and that everyone is on the same page! Don't you think? I mean, I won't be standing over anyone's shoulder or anything; until I get promoted!

How about this. We'll start selling the Hoffman's their equipment. You can be the bikini model that showcases the stuff. While they are droolin' over ya' because they been stuck in the middle of nowhere smelling other men for months, I can talk them into a sucker price. We'll except only gold payments. We'll have the gold and touch beer bottles in the shade.

"When everyone is looking for gold, it's a good time to be in the pick and shovel business."

Mark Twain

They must get paid a lot of money just for being on the show, because with all the equipment and operating costs, they must have lost a lot of $$.
