It's 20 degrees outside and you have the nerve to mention gardening?
If it wasn't so early 'i'd burn the lettuce bed just to get warmed up.

PH, so your a Wildcat fan, serious, or are you just pull'n 'my' leg?

It wasn't the 'barn-yard' ball game they use to play.

My 1st cousin is a Dr. of Science @ UK, we went to college at the same time,'me' 2 EKU and him @ UK, you think he ever invited 'me' to a ball game?
You think I've even ever spoken to him since he didn't do that?
We played basketball together in the 'corn crib lot' for many years, he was 2 years behind me.
When he went to UK I think he felt like he was too good for me. He played ball there for 2 years before injuring his knee "&" 'i' had no sympathy!
He never asked for 'me' to come see a game!!!

A winter garden or even a late winter garden! With all you raised bed I'd think you'd never need to buy produce anymore.........LOL

I think it would be hard to burn green lettuce! Spinach is great tossed with some olive oil in a hot skillet for a few mins.

One day? I already know that! I've had gardens in the past and grew up on big garden food. It's just with the plans we have now for gardening is a little different then just a spring/summer garden. We've even can and freeze our garden harvest too. Even make fresh pasta sauce and salsa. We can most of it and tomato juice. We freeze our corn and green beans. We just want more more often. The only catch is my husbands work schedule is massively overflowing and I'm not a carpenter. So instead we're going to make and start our raised boxes this late summer. We're still planning our garden......

Freezing corn:
I've discovered freezing corn is a snap!
Pull the ear, cut the excess stalk off the bottom of the ear, trim the top shuck just above the top of the ear, place in a cardboard box and put it in the freezer.
When your ready for a couple put them in water to thaw out, shuck'm,
boil'm, and you'll swear they just came out of the garden.

I know how to freeze corn. Last year we did cream corn for the first time with one of those things that shaves the corn off then you rub it once or twice for the juice. My husbands a big cream corn fan but I'm not. But this cream corn was much better then what my mom would buy in the can from the store. My grandparents always froze their corn but never made cream corn. Other then sweet home grown corn I'm much of a corn eater. I like my green vegies the best! Cucumbers, green beans, Spinach (#1), peas, just about anything green I will eat. There are very few vegies or fruits I won't eat!

Got to run!

Cream Corn--

Take raw corn, cut it off the cob

12 cups corn
1 lb butter
1 pint half and half or cream
Salt to taste

Place in large roaster, bake in oven 1 hr, stirring occasionally. Cool and place in freezer bags.

Yum!
