Yes. We owe Al Qaida and the Muhajedeen much! Thanks to them the common man is kept from "harm's way". Without them, we've had it.
the lockstep fascist in America, aka sheeple, will never understand what they either refuse to or can't understand

they can not understand Jefferson of Franklin as they wrap themselves in the security of the flag of The Corporate States of America

they think the welfare of the poor, sick and elderly has bankrupted this country while they turn a blind eye to the pillaging of retirement and health care accounts and the misrepresentation of accounting to encourage investments in failed corporations by firms such as Arthur Anderson and Enron

its a sad "state of affairs", litelaty

it is truly a sad state of affairs

WAY BACK WHEN: A GRUNT’S LAMENT
Way back when in 68,
things were goin along just great
I just finished school, was havin fun,
then Uncle Sam said,“I need you son.”
So I packed my shit and said goodbye
To my Mom and Dad and my Sweeti Pie.
Got on a plane and off I went
To do a job for my President
Before you knew it we were on our way
Destination Cam Rahn Bay
We landed at night and it was hot and damp
And they trucked us off to the replacement camp
As soon as we got there, things started hoppin,
Sirens were wailin and rockets were droppin
A few days later things had settled down
So I thought I’d take a look around
Walked on down to this little ville
Set down at the base of a hill
I was sitten there just getting high
When this old Papa San shuffled by
As he passed he gave me a smile
The first I’d seen in quite a while
So I offered him a little smoke
He held the pipe and took a toke
And as he left he waved goodbye
while echoes of choppers filled the sky
Back at the base there was quite a flurry
The lifers were sweatin and startin to scurry
I asked the Sarge what it was all about he said
Boy it’s time, were movin out.
We loaded up and it was strange you see
Cuz all those dude looked just like me.
They set us down in this hot LZ;
The L.T. jumps out, hollers “Follow Me”
We all started runnin and bullets were flyin
The next thing I know man people are dyin.
As long as I live I’ll never understand
How the government can take a man
Teach him how to kill and main
And still expect him to be the same.
Yea way back when in 68,
things were goin along just great.

The core of the problem is in the fact that Americans are uneducated and have not progressed socially since the early 1900's. There are still the notions of "hero worshipping" and "cowardess" that leaves the majority of the population living lies about themselves because in the eyes of the every-day American you're either a hero or a coward, a winner or a loser ....... nothing in between. That leads to bluffing and lying and cheating and making things up as you go along.
So, the fact that they don't understand Jefferson or Franklin is because they've never taken the time to actually educate themselves but just prefer to pretend to know. And they realize if they finish every sentence with "God bless America" they know that few people will challenge them about what they said in the beginning of their sentence because it will be interpreted as "anti-American" to criticize idiotic words.
very well said

A Tribute To Veterans

Jerry Calow (copyright 2003 )

In Vietnam, Korea and World Wars Past
Our Men Fought Bravely so Freedom Would Last
Conditions Where Not Always Best They Could Be
Fighting a Foe You Could Not Always See:

From Mountain Highs to Valley Lows
From Jungle Drops to Desert Patrols

Our Sinewy Sons Were Sent Over Seas
Far From Their Families And Far From Their Dreams
They Never Wrote Letters Of Hardships Despair
Only Of Love, Yearning That One Day Soon:

They Would Come Home, They Would Resume
And Carry On With The Rest of Their Lives

The P.O.W.¹S Stood Steadfast
Against the Indignities And Cruelties Of War
They Could Not Have Lasted as Long as They Did
If They Had Relinquished Their Hope That Some Day:

They Would Come Home, They Would Resume
And Carry On the Rest Of Their Lives

Medics, Nurses, and Chaplains Alike
Did What They Needed To Bring Back Life
They Served Our Forces From Day Into Night
Not Questioning If They Would Survive:

They Mended Bones And Bodies Too,
They Soothed the Spirits of Dying Souls

And for Those M.I.A¹S, Who Were Left Behind
We Echo This Message Across the Seas
We Will search For as Long As It Takes
You¹re Not Forgotten And Will Always Be:

In Our Hearts, In Our Prayers,
In Our Minds For All Time

A Moment of Silence, a Moment of Summons
Is Their Deliverance of Body And Soul
To a Sacred Place That We All Know
Deep In the Shrines of Our Soul:

In Our Hearts, In Our Prayers
In Our Minds For All Time

GOLD STAR MOTHERS GRIEVE: ENDLESSLY,
ENDLESSLY, ENDLESSLY.......

These Immortalized Soldiers Whose Bravery Abounds
They¹re Our Husbands, Fathers, and Sons
They Enlisted For the Duty at Hand
To Serve the Cause of Country and Land:

They Had Honor, They Had Valor,
They Found Glory That Change Them Forever

Men Standing Tall and Proud They be
A Country Behind Them in a Solemn Sea
So Let the Flags of Freedom Fly
Unfurled in Their Majesty High:

In the Sun, In the Rain
In the Winds Across This Land

Years of Tears Has Brought Us Here
Gathering Around to Hear This Sound
So Let the Flags of Freedom Fly
Unfurled in Their Majesty High:

In the Sun, In the Rain,
In the Winds Across This Land

In the Sun, In the Rain,
In the Winds For All Time

HERE WE GO AGAIN

From the safe haven of Fort Stewart, Georgia to Ireland and on to Kuwait;
The 3rd Infantry Division lands back in the country of Iraq as their fate
Yes, I said Iraq!

Been there, done that, knowing the enemy well
Fear, anxious moments await them again as they enter the battle’s swell

Terrorist ridden, roadside bombs, sandstorms, scorching heat
And still our brave soldiers march onward to the beat

Invasion in 2003 to set the people free
Saddam Hussein was his name and tyranny was his specialty

“Democracy for all mankind” they shout in January of 2005
Protect the innocent whatever the cost
“Peace on Earth” we all cry

Freedom isn’t free, my friend
The price has always been high
Soldiers have given their all, my friend
Blood, sweat and tears
Conquering the foe and their fears
Freedom isn’t free!

So here we go again, dear ones
God’s speed – return to our open arms without harm
We will support you, love you, pray for you, dear ones
Believing through the long, dark night in your mission

I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.

I, therefore, believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.
