A LETTER FROM HEAVEN

A letter arrived from Heaven today,
Addressed to his children in Dad’s special way:
“Dear Kourtnie and Maddie, how much I miss you,
It’s nice here in Heaven with clouds I see through.

I watch over you daily and know you’re in pain;
I’ve caught every teardrop that fell down like rain.
Remember how much love we hold in our hearts,
As long as you need me, we’ll never be apart.

Dustin and Cody, my sweet, precious sons,
I’m sorry I left you with so much left undone.
I’ll miss baseball games and days in the park,
Cowboys & Indians and catching fireflies at dark.

As you get older, your Mom can relate,
How Dad served his Country in a land far away.
God needed me more in our Heavenly home,
Feel me within you and you’re never alone.

I’ll watch each of you grow more every year,
With the love of your Mother to chase away fears.
Hold onto your faith and chase every dream,
Never slack off and plunge into life’s stream.

Although you can’t see me, you feel me I know,
Think of me often, and let your love grow.
I’ll always be with you, on this you can depend,
In Heaven love continues, with no beginning or end.

America was built on the ultimate sacrifice of men and women and continues to be the leader of the world because of the ultimate sacrifice made by its best and brightest. America is certainly not perfect, but she is certainly the best nation on earth. The men and women who serve in the armed services are not all perfect, many join for selfish reasons, but the vast majority are there to honor the ideals promulgated by the founding fathers.
Once again, thank you for your service and sacrifice.

That's what you get while living in a capitalistic society. A lot of kids are joining the military for an opportunity to go college, that they wouldn't normally be able to afford. My respect to them.

Now...I'm thinkin' I better get that kid's name, address and dob. It wouldn't hurt to send him a birthday card AND my note of thanks, maybe even say a prayer for his safe return, for him being in the armed services. Indeed. Here in Sweden college education is free. The only requirements are good marks and intelligence.
