"SCREW YOU!"

Dedicated to Kathy Wynn
and her ingrown toenails.

We can't love, not like this
You broke me down, do I even exist?
After everything, gave you everything, I lost everything
Love is so lonely now

Cause I don't wanna run no more
Can't believe all the shit I did for you
And I don't wanna hurt no more
Oh my heart, it must've been too big for you
So caught up in the love I felt for you
I burned out like a flame I'd held for you
But it never was enough, I never got your love
I loved you so much but you never gave a fuck

So screw you
Never loved, no you never loved me
After all the love that I gave to you, boy screw you
Never loved, no you never loved me
Yeah, screw you
Never loved, no you never loved me
All that I did, I did for you, boy screw you
Never loved, no you never loved me
Screw you

Gave it all I had, gave it all I could
Got me feeling ways I probably never should
Could've been the best performer of the show
But now we'll never know, now we'll never know

I can still remember our first date, yeah
Never thought I'd ever scream I hate ya
You can probably hear me clear from far away
You could only stand to love me yesterday

Cause I don't wanna run no more
Can't believe all the shit I did for you
And I don't wanna hurt no more
Oh my heart, it must've been too big for you
So caught up in the love I felt for you
I burned out like a flame I'd held for you
But it never was enough, I never got your love
I loved you so much but you never gave a fuck

So screw you
Never loved, no you never loved me
After all the love that I gave to you, boy screw you
Never loved, no you never loved me
Yeah, screw you
Never loved, no you never loved me
All that I did, I did for you, boy screw you
Never loved, no you never loved me
Screw you

I'm trying to keep the peace
We've become a nightmare ruining my sleep
Pain in my right ear saying screw me
'Til I throw a spanner in the works and they leak
Oh what a dream, wake up my soul
Judge a book by the cover when I saw you on the Vogue
Managing my love, you would spend my roll
And now I'm left back feeling kinda cold
Woah, so screw you

We can't love, not like this
You broke me down, do I even exist?
After everything, gave you everything, I lost everything
Love is so lonely now

Cause I don't wanna run no more
Can't believe all the shit I did for you
And I don't wanna hurt no more
Oh my heart, it must've been too big for you

THE DRAGONS’ SONG

Dragons come in a myriad of forms,
out of the ordinary away from the norm;
they may take the shape of a distant war
breathe fire as consuming as a lightning storm.
They often come in the dark of night.
We awaken startled with its vision in sight
to a gritty scene of a torrid past.
Who knew this demon monster would forever last?
We stand defenseless before its great power;
we are the victims it wants to devour.
With all its cunning and with all its skill,
joy and tranquility is what it wishes to kill.
Dragons live in a different realm
they seek to intimidate and to overwhelm.
The heat from their flames causes night sweats,
yet we are never purged from our regrets
The beast preys upon weary mortals
from out of hells own brimstone portals.
An adversary stealing the sands of time
with no mercy, no conscience, no reason nor rhyme
To slay the dragon would be sublime.
Armies lay in silent limbo with Swords drawn
in sleepless vigilance from dusk to dawn.
Together we fight the warriors’ fight,
alone in the multitudes – Crusaders of the night.

I know. They haven't found a single WMD in Irak or in Afghanistan, so why thank them?

Instead of "thank you" we ought to say "Screw you!" or "Are you sleeping on the job?" or "Are you blind?" or "What are you getting paid for?" or simply "Drop dead!" Yeah, that's it.

Hey troops! Drop dead! The next time you get the urge to rape a child or shoot another innocent man, woman, or child .... shoot yourself instead. Do the right thing!

THE SILENT PATRIOT

American born under the red white and blue
he was no one special from his point of view
He grew up in a small town just an average Joe
But when his country called he was willing to go
He joined the Marines, The Few and the Proud
His actions and words didn’t speak very loud
Then he went to war near the DMZ
Fought for his life and the land of the free
He fought in the jungle; he fought in the streams
He fought on the hillsides; he fought through the screams
He saw life taken, took some of his own
had some taken from him, he never whimpered or groaned
He returned to his home town; no parade or fanfare
His friends turned their backs said you shouldn’t have went there
He endured the ridicule from a nation without care
He sealed his own soul with the thousand yard stare
He has seen more in one lifetime than a man ought to see
What he doesn’t see walking, he sees in his dreams
He lived his own life but he lived back in time
His heart was so broken that he took his own life
There is no memorial for this victim of war
He died in the background behind a closed door
He lived his own hell in a country that forgot
An unseen casualty,

The Silent Patriot

"THE SOUNDS OF SILENCE"

Dedicated to Kathy Wynn
and her chewing gum.

Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence

In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence

"Fools", said I, "You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you"
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed
In the wells of silence

And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls"
And whispered in the sounds of silence

THE TATTERED FLAG

Faded Glory billows, tattered in the breeze
Shredded and torn in the land of the free
In the familiar neighborhoods of our hometown
It’s past time to take our beloved flag down

When the jagged edges ripple and snap in the air
When the flyers of Old Glory no longer care
And the colors have faded beyond their days
A darkness shames the pride of American way

Old Glory should fly brightly under our Sun
And reverence should abound for the victories won
For the Sons of our Nation put the red in the stripes
And monuments abound for these givers of rights

Lower the tattered Flag and put her to rest
She’s flown high and long and has done her best
Seeing her weathered and faded and hanging by strings
Should make the very souls of all Americans sting.

Raise the newborn colors, which bring all unity and hope
While the brightness forms unity and gives the will to cope
Pay tribute to the liberty our flag proudly preserves
God awaken us to give Old Glory the honor deserved.

"PATCHES"

and her shanty shack.

Down by the river that flows by the coal yard's stand Wooden houses with shutters torn down There lives a girl everybody calls Patches Patches my darling of old Shantytown
We planned to marry when June brought the summer I couldn’t wait to make Patches my bride Now I don’t see how that ever can happen My folks say no and my heart breaks inside
Patches oh what can I do? I swear, I’ll always love you But a girl from that place would just bring me disgrace So my folks won’t let me love you
Each night I cry as I think of that Shanty and pretty patches There watching the door She doesn’t know that I can’t come to see her Patches must think that I love her no more
I hear a neighbor telling my father He says, a girl name of Patches was found floating face down In that dirty old river that flows by the coal yards In old Shantytown
Patches oh what can I do? I swear, I’ll always love you It may not be right but I’ll join you tonight Patches I’m coming to you

So the Americans killed their own.

But they reported it was the Irakis who did it.

They admitted that the Irakis don't trust the Americans and they agreed with the Irakis - but told the Americans to "keep quiet about it".

Yep! THANK YOU TO THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE AMERICAN ARMED SERVICES!!!

You guys are doing really good work!

THE YOUNG AMERICANS

They were young, mostly in their teens
In the Army, Navy, Air force and Marines
All for one and one for all
Fighting for freedom, standing tall

Strange names in this place called Nam
Danang, Conthien, lacking far eastern charm
Bloody ridges, paddies filled with shit
I’ve not been to heaven and quite sure this ain’t it

We were swallowed up in the humid green
Deafened by the unseen screams
Blinded by the pitch-black nights
We fought with heart and not by sight

Monsoons rains beat upon the living and dead
While turbulent visions filled our heads
Chilled to the bone as fevers rose
We were faithful to maintain the defenders pose

In the holes or in the jungle streams
We dared not speak we dared not dream
We were swept up in the green machine
As we cooked in the heat of the morning steam

Yes there were strange names in this place called Nam
Such as Richmond, Klaiber, Preston, and Ron
Jones, Smiths, Vargas, and Sam
We returned different from where the beginning began

Our eyes were blank; spit was our thanks
Sworn at by protesters standing upon the banks
They burned our flag; fuckin’ fags
They must not have seen the body bags

We returned home more or less
Medals and ribbons pinned upon our chest
Brothers barely able to stand
Some in wheel chairs, waving flags in their hand

Outcasts without honor, home but alone
Baby killers, as we are known
Even so as Brothers together we stand
Dark history’s, young Americans

and her flabby tushy.

They pulled in just behind the fridge
He lays her down, he frowns
Gee my lifes a funny thing, am I still too young?
He kissed her then and there
She took his ring, took his babies
It took him minutes, took her nowhere
Heaven knows, she'd have taken anything, but

All night
She wants the young american
Young american, young american, she wants the young american
All right
She wants the young american

Scanning life through the picture windows
She finds the slinky vagabond
He coughs as he passes her ford mustang, but
Heaven forbid, shell take anything
But the freak, and his type, all for nothing
He misses a step and cuts his hand, but
Showing nothing, he swoops like a song
She cries where have all papas heroes gone?

All night
She wants the young american
Young american, young american, she wants the young american
All right
She wants the young american

All the way from washington
Her bread-winner begs off the bathroom floor
We live for just these twenty years
Do we have to die for the fifty more?

All night
He wants the young american
Young american, young american, he wants the young american
All right
He wants the young american

Do you remember, your president nixon?
Do you remember, the bills you have to pay
Or even yesterday

Have you been an un-american?
Just you and your idol singing falsetto bout
Leather, leather everywhere, and
Not a myth left from the ghetto
Well, well, well, would you carry a razor
In case, just in case of depression
Sit on your hands on a bus of survivors
Blushing at all the afro-sheilas
Aint that close to love?
Well, aint that poster love?
Well, it aint that barbie doll
Her hearts been broken just like you have

And
All night
You want the young american
Young american, young american, you want the young american
All right
You want the young american

You aint a pimp and you aint a hustler
A pimps got a cadi and a lady got a chrysler
Blacks got respect, and whites got his soul train
Mamas got cramps, and look at your hands ache
I heard the news today, oh boy
I got a suite and you got defeat
Aint there a man you can say no more?
And, aint there a woman I can sock on the jaw?
And, aint there a child I can hold without judging?
Aint there a pen that will write before they die?
Aint you proud that youve still got faces?
Aint there one damn song that can make me
Break down and cry?

All night
I want the young american
Young american, young american, I want the young american
All right
I want the young american
Young american
Young american, young american, I want the young american
(I want with you, I want with you want)
All right
(you want it, I want you you, you want i, I want you want)
Young american, young american, I want the young american (I want to want, to want, to want , to want i, I want you)
All right
(lord I wanted the young american)
(young american)
Young american, young american
I want the young american
Mmmmmm mmm
