YOU & Owe-Bummer...
He has worked pretty good.
Esp if you compare him to his predecessor.
He had Bin Laden in 2 yrs when Bush couldn't
do it in 8.
He saved the auto industry in Detroit and kept
jobs in the country w/that move.(a structured
bail out that gets paid back vs the bank bail
out that made a handful of wealthy men even
wealthier).
He's trying to help uninsured Americans get
health care.
Got in Libya then got out...and just btw
Kadaffie (sp?) he's gone.

He's doing the best he can with the depressed
mess he inherited.
I didn't even think he'd be able to do That much
with the sorry mess we have become.

Nothing is "fixed" but for the first
time in a long time I think we are on
the right road.

If 9/11 wasn't enough for some ppl to
realize that we have to change our attitudes
about foreign policy.

Romneys ideas about f policy is worrisome
b/c that "bully" mentality is what got us
in dutch w/these ppl to begin with.
The middle east does not belong to us.

One more thing I was thinking about earlier.

Afghanistan.
How different would the world be right
now if....we would not only have armed them
against Russia (with Russian guns through
Israel or some other secret squirrel sh1t)
But if America would have shown the balls,
and the honor, and said to the world...
We are allies w/Afghanistan.
Period.
Instead what we did was arm them (and train)
them on the sly and then slunk off and left
them to deal w/everything themselves.
I imagine the actions of those in power at
that time looked to BinLaden like a slap
in the face.

Would he have turned so radical and anti-American
if those w/the power would have acted more
honorably?

There could be a lesson to be learned there.

The CIA had intelligence.
That same CIA had intelligence when Bush was in office.

We know Now that Bush did some real shady things.
Like when the CIA told him that there were no WMDs
(prior to our invasion of Baghdad) he outted her.

Outted our own spy. I don't feel I can say that enough.
B/c that is big.
It was treason no matter how you slice it.
And b/c of that debacle the Iraqi scientists and
their families, who were expecting to be picked up
and brought here, were all executed (and no doubt
tortured)

Having intelligence and Using it effectively is no
doubt a talent that some ppl have.

Russia would not have went to war w/us.
Hell after we armed them a ragtag group of
rebels defeated Russia.

I do think about these things.
Then I look it up and try to understand
the ppl (like what motivated Charlie Wilson)
and what the social climate was.

Then I throw it out here and get other points
of view ....sometimes when ppl want to discuss
it.

A course in history could be your friend.
You are obviously unaware that all of central Europe was under Communist control.
It was only after Ronald Reagan's famous Berlin speech, "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall", did the Soviet Union collapse under its own weight.

Lt. Col. Stanislav Petrov, the officer in charge of Serpukhov-15, the secret bunker from which the Soviet Union monitored its early-warning satellites, indicated that the new system reported the launch of several missiles from the U.S. continental missile fields. Petrov had been told repeatedly that the United States would launch a massive nuclear strike designed to overwhelm Soviet forces in a single strike.

Why did that false alarm fail to trigger a nuclear war? Perhaps the Russian command did not want to start a war on the basis of data from a new and unique system. On the other hand, if the sun glint had caused the system to report hundreds of missile launches, then the Soviet Union might have mistakenly launched its missiles. Petrov said that he refused to pass the alert to his superiors because "when people start a war, they don't start it with only five missiles. You can do little damage with just five missiles."

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Taurus

The sad fact is that a certain person isn't making much sense right now. They seem to be talking nonsense, or maybe they've got the wrong end of the stick but are hanging on to it for grim death and refuse to let you correct them. Mind you, there's also the possibility that you're the one who has got themselves in a muddle but doesn't realize it. Scary!
