Ramen noodles,Japans contribution to American cuisine, come in several off the shelf flavors. Here is your chance to tell folks what you do to jazz them up.

I like to start by boiling the water with a bullion cube, beef or chicken depending on the flavor I am cooking. Add to it a couple tablespoons of frozen mixed vegetables. Add noodles when water has reached a rolling boil. Then, again depending on the flavor,I add either shredded beef jerky or chicken. Remove from heat and cover for a few minutes.....

You c an substitute turkey for chicken if you want to make use of the leftover T-Day bird.

I have been very sick lately. I can go a week without eating. The first thing I could stomach without vomiting was Ramen Noodles. Okay I added Red Hot Sauce, Red Pepper, Black Peppercorns, and boiled it. "Voila!" Sometimes I added Banana Peppers from my garden!

I've seen inmates use all kinds of extras to fix Raman Noodles. They almost always crush the noodles before cooking. Most common is for several inmates to join together and make a community meal, with a couple of guys tossing in a pack or two of noodles, someone else contributing Spam or summer sausage, someone else adding vegetables, and/or someone else adding whatever they might have.

One guy was known as The Raman Noodle Chef because of the things he could create from the noodles. He even crushed the noodles into a flour-like texture and use it for things like pie crusts. That in itself is no small feat when you consider he had no kitchen utensils to work with.

Me? I'll have a pack now and again for lunch at work. I'll take something like leftover chicken or beef (doesn't matter if it's ground hamburger or steak) and maybe a little cans of mushrooms. I've also noticed that if you mix the noodles with only a packet of leftover taco sauce they taste just like poverty.

A few shots of Vietnamese fish sauce, a Thai bird chili, and some peanut butter.....it's good in the chile-flavoured Ramen.

My moms exboyfriend used to make an awesome soup using ramen noodles, hamburger, cabbage, etc... I wish I knew what all he put into it and how to make it.

Always sit on the noodles to break them up. If you are out of
'after dinner mints" simply scrape the old globules of toothpaste off the surface of the sink and present them on a silver dish! Voila!

Jailhouse Recipe Ramon noodles crushed, add with Jalapeno cheetos crushed, rice, summer sausage, put everything in $1.00 cheeto bag with boiling water along with seasoning packet, stir it up, let sit....it will turn into a brick, if you dont like it that dry, put a little extra water...If ya dont make the brick, put some mustard in it, you can also add hot wing pretzel pieces and/or tuna on top....Best mix ever, and I was the jailhouse chef so i know what im talking about i used 2 get paid by the whole dorm to cook...try it

I have a pretty good one I use camping. Take a pack of beef ramen or if you like spicy get the Shim Ray Moon brand and add diced potatos until they are tender. When the potatoes start to soften add the noodles and finish . Add a piece of ginger candy to the broth. When it is all done add cut up strips of beef or venison jerky and chopped leeks (wild leeks or "ramps" if in season) and wait until the jerky rehydrates and is tender. I also like to add fiddle heads when they are available. Pretty good camp chow and all that is needed to pack is the noodles, a potato, and a bag of jerky and some ginger candies. The leeks and fiddleheads are foraged.

His idea sounds good, if you like Thai food. Thai peanut sauce is pretty much runny peanut butter.

I forgot to say to add a extra water (about a cup extra) for the broth because the jerky adds salt and seasoning.

It does sound good. I'm a peanut butter fan, though, so might be a bit prejudiced towards the idea.
