a part of me wants to say, just shoot em and be done with it, that's what they want.
it seems people like that just want to make other people suffer along with them. even though the cop doesn't know this person, he too will suffer the guilt of having to make the choice between himself or the person looking to die.
in general, I think suicide is a cowardly act and also a brave act all wrapped up in one package. but the person who is not willing to end his Own life and expects someone else to do it for him, is totally and completely a coward.

but, that's not true either because.
then I think about the people who I know who've gone down this path and I know for sure that a person contemplating suicide is Neither a coward nor is he brave, just lost and feeling alone, crying out for someone to help him find his way back into the joy of life again...

This is why I strongly believe in the 'no day after pill'. If a person no longer wishes to be alive, they should have every right under the sun to have the 'no day after pill' prescribed to them. Once it is knowledge a person has obtained this pill...they will be picked up and bagged in the morning.

There are many reasons a human no longer wishes to be a part of the race. Not one of us is to reason why.

We have abortions. This is the start of life. But an abortion is a choice, and sometimes a smart one. Therefore, when a human gets old or just doesn't want to be anymore. They should be shown the same respect and kindness.

I know this is horrid of me. But think it over. If a human is suffering, be it terminal or deeply depressed, not to mention a host of other factors... then why now end it.

As a race, we tend to be more considerate of our pets than our family members when it comes to being 'put down'.

We have a pill for sex.
We have a 'day after pill' to take care of said sex.
But...we freak out at the very thought of a ...
No day after pill.

Piss poor reasoning to me.

How can it be better to let a person suffer for our own needs...than to be considerate of theirs and understand...they just want to stop!

I've thought about this before. In some parts of the world, there are "end of life determination clinics." I have mixed feelings. For people who are determined, they could pass on without taking others with them. But such clinics could increase suicides since they are legal and done in a nice little clinic. If suicide was an accepted part of our culture, that could actually make bullying worse. The bullies would actually be trying to get others to commit suicide. "Oh, if she is bothered by us bullying her, she could always check into a clinic and check out..." That would be a bad attitude to take.

The biggest problem with suicide pills and no questions asked clinics would be killing oneself over frivolous or avoidable things like these fictional scenarios:

"I made a B on that test and my overbearing parents will give me grief, so I reckon I'll go to the clinic on the way home from school."

"I didn't get accepted into [insert college name here], so maybe I'll just take the pill. My life is so over!"

"I can't believe he broke up with me. I honestly thought he loved me. At least there is a suicide clinic down the street, and I think I'm going to make an appointment."

"Hey guys, we've had boring lives and never got anywhere. Tell you what, lets take out a mall and a school, assault some chicks, hold up a few stores, and then we all take the pill together. We can have a crime spree and then check out. What a way to go!"

Your wheels spin to fast. Am speaking of certain conditions. The 'no day after pill' would not be handed out freely to anyone like pain pills. Would have to have a d'amn good reason, even if it be habitual depression. Am thinking of chronic decease, where you are going to suffer to the end. Or aging to a point of total need of care. There are reasons for folk to want to die.

If an idiot makes a poor grade and thinks is the end of the world..is rope!

You just go on and on about some silly stuff.

Stop and give it a lot of thought before writing a short story. I am aware of how folk function. As said..there is rope and cliffs. Hell a good walk in traffic can solve some of the stuff you mentioned.
