The Society of Actuaries ( SOA.org ) have announced that it has been determined that as a direct result of Obama's efforts at bringing cheaper health care to the unwashed masses, that in fact, health insurance premiums are going to rise significantly as the cost of claims will rise an average of 32% mationwide with some states having an increase as much or more than 60%.

"Having said that," Foster added, "actuaries tend to be financially conservative, so the various assumptions might be more inclined to consider what might go wrong than to anticipate that everything will work beautifully."

Actuaries use statistics and economic theory to make long-range cost projections for insurance and pension programs sponsored by businesses and government. The society is headquartered near Chicago.

Bohn, the actuary who worked on the study, acknowledged it did not attempt to estimate the effect of subsidies, insurer competition and other factors that could offset cost increases. She said the goal was to look at the underlying cost of medical care.
"We don't see ourselves as a political organization," Bohn added. "We are trying to figure out what the situation at hand is."

On the plus side, the report found the law will cover more than 32 million currently uninsured Americans when fully phased in. And some states - including New York and Massachusetts - will see double-digit declines in costs for claims in the individual market.

All eyewash of course. since there will be 270 million people whose rates will go significantly higher, and millions of those are people of very modest means who are in no position to pay yet more.

Millions are going to either be dropped by their employer or have their coverage limited to the emploee,no family coverage. The intent of course is to force people to the government exchanges. Where they will immediately see rationed care,co-pays they can't afford and seniors who will be strictly limited to what procedures they will recieve. In short,if you're productive(healthy)to the collective you will get treatment commeserate to your age/productivity level. Retired or part time working elderly? You're on your own-good night.....UNLESS you're part of the Elite.

Nikita Khrushchev said in the early 60's that we would wake up one day and have socialism. He was right, and the left has been working on it for more than 60 years.
