Wow, just when our country is in such great need for some sort of moral rebirth, even the so-called 'teachers' are doing their dirtiest to stomp out all morality.

Perhaps a few folks oughtta stomp the teacher a new azzhole. He has his "right" to his beliefs....NOT require the people under his insttruction to act on them.

Actually he does - it's a college atmosphere, not a public grade school. The article stated that one student refused and was kicked out of the class.

The related stories were all in a college environment.

Latest: The student was apologized to by the school. The Governor has asked for a commission/board to investigate the "teacher's" motives/reasoning for this "lesson" to be required by said "teacher". The "teacher" may have even been relieved of his class/course,that part is merely rumored tho.

I think there are 2 extremes here..
The college prof... who.. uses his influence to beat up jesus... because he can...

and the over sensitive "christian" kid who refused to beat up jesus...

somewhere in the middle ground folks might be getting an edjumacation....

Where is the educational value in insulting peoples' belief/faith system? Making them think? About WHAT? HIS belief system of obvious atheism? And where does HIS right to impose HIS non-belief come from? One can instill critical thinking without denigrating one's religious convictions. He could have very well had them print THEIR name and stomp on IT. Or Allah,Buddah or even Obama.....

Some things some people just can't compromise on. With him, being a devout Mormon,it was his Faith and what it meant to him. And whynis it that Christians always seem to be the target of the anti-religious? They don't DARE attack Islam in such a fasion. They don't or very rarely bother Jews. Or Buddists. Or Wiccans. Or even Druids for that matter.

The Only Thing Necessary for the Triumph of Evil is that Good Men Do Nothing in this case the student stood his ground and did nothing. While i'm not religious i believe everyone has a right to their beliefs

I'm totally confused as to why people despise Jesus. He claimed to be sent by God to save everyone from burning in Hell for eternity at his expense. The Romans knew he didn't do anything wrong and washed their hands of him. He never forced anyone to believe him but to seek God before it is too late. He ate and spoke with social outcasts and healed the lame and sick.
Even if you don't believe he is the son of God, other religious groups consider him a good moral teacher. And yet people will do stupid crap like this. Why not Santa? Why not Gandhi, Dalai Lama?

Never taken a college level psychology class, huh? Or how about a 3rd year theology course? Even better, how about a human sexuality course?

Again, this was not a public grade school - it is a college. The classes are elected by the student - there is nothing that binds them to take this class. There is nothing mandatory about a collegiate curriculum.

When I was in my senior year, the drama & chorus clubs put on a play/opera, "Porgy & Bess." Can't get any more racist than that, right? Fortunately, the critics didn't agree - the school won national acclaim and a collegiate award for best Broadway play in the nation.

good points .. I agree with you.. "Christians tend to put themselves in bubbles... a lot of kids raised in church opt for Christain colleges, where their bellief system wont be challenged..and probably should, if this weak... and yes, they are weak, if they cant make it through one class without crying.. their belief should be strong enough to endure a class that challenges....
on another note.... how and why do they expect others to embrace christianity, if they themselves arent willing to show simply , acceptance to any other faith...If nothing else, step up, be strong, stay in the class, accept the assignment and challenge the professor.... I am of christain belief...but think this kid was simply a crybaby,,,regardless the professors push to insult Jesus.... Jesus is fine... he can handle much more than a class like this... I hope this kid is clean,, by biblical standards,, no cussing drinking, premarital hanky panky,, lying.. gossip.. pride etc,, else his stand is in vain,, in the heavenlies...

I agree 100%...and also remember - Jesus was a man, not God.
