We still have our parking tickets for free speech!

This is in no way an endorsement to express yourself against the US government. Check your state law before you floor that baby.

Oops - slept in today, "before we PARK it" (not floor it) and "Please check your local laws" not state laws.

There was a famous case of a guy who, in a demonstration of discontent, wiped his ass with his parking ticket before sending it along with the check for payment. Is wiping your ass with a document a federal crime? No.

But sending it via US Mail IS. He served 6 months of a 2-year sentence in a federal prison.

Moral of the story - Writing obcenities on a ticket or form may be an act of freedom of speech, but it is very disrespectful and just a dumb thing to do.

Show respect for the law. Chances are, in the end, they will win.

Me too. I used to like to write "For Sex" on the memo portion of my rent check when I was in college. The 55 year old Ladylady thought it was funny.

Whenever I have to write a check to my husband (separate $, designated bills works for us) I always write "For Services Rendered" in the memo portion. We use the same bank so I've hoped someone is amused.

Was the same where I grew up in CT. My father was a State Trooper for years, which was resposnible for a large portion of CT since most towns had no police of their own.
