I can't believe we traded 5 terrorists for one American, someone needs to look into this because it seems so wrong....

Agreed, especially considering how he got captured – I mean what he was doing to make himself vulnerable. He kind of asked for it IMHO, one of my favorite sayings is "there's a fine line between being a victim, and a volunteer" (true in so many situations)
There is something seriously wrong about this story...I was in awe watching the exchange, all for one American! I would have said, "sorry no can do, off with his head then"!
So I guess, the Taliban can e-mail the next President and see what they can swap for more terrorists to be released!

This is so true and it's shameful that Obama would do something like this! What I want to know is, what was so 'Special' about this soldier to make a deal to trade!

Establishing precedent..

It's like the Statue of Liberty is Lorraine and Biff has his hands all over her..I keep waiting for George Mcfly..ie the people, to step up and say “No Biff. You leave her alone”

Obama did it for a photo op with the parents. This is election year and he's just trying to stump for more votes for his party members who will be running. Nothing more, nothing less.

Nice to see it backfired horribly on him. Even his own party leaders called him out. Of course they waited a few days to see the American backlash and then jumped on the bandwagon for votes too.

Obama don't do anything by himself. He has a big team of advisors. They did it to deflect media attention from the Benghazi hearings. Bowe Bergdahl?

I still can't believe he traded those terrorists for one American! How many American's in the past have been held captive and we never traded terrorists for their return......what is so special about this guy???
I was talking about this story over lunch and about the gas prices and the 'reserve' of fuel that Obama won't release to make our gas prices go down.....

So in 80 days, when the SPR runs dry, what do you think will happen to gas prices? If you're going to discuss oil reserves, you need to understand how it works.

The SPR is there to fall back on in an emergency. It's not now and never was intended to be a way to bring down gasoline prices. There is only enough in the four reserves to supply us with 80 days of crude oil which is what we use in oil imports

. The sanctions that have recently been placed on Iran are the reason crude prices have risen. Tighter sanctions on Iran, which the right are pushing for, will only drive prices up further. 17+ million barrels of oil are moved thru the straight of Hormuz daily. What do you think will happen to fuel prices if Iran shuts that down? What do you think a war with the Middle East would do to them?

Without the SPR, your fuel prices, in an emergency, will be determined by oil producing countries that you despise. So what do you think they will do to oil prices? If the SPR were to be depleted, it would take only one incident in the Middle East to possibly bring gas prices in the US too double digits at the pump.

That's right. Like the time they sold missiles to Iran in exchange for hostages and then gave the money from the sale to the contras who then bought weapons from Iran.

Oh wait. That wasn't democrats was it?

And this response is why the country is in the shape it's currently in. Knowledge is seen as a bad thing by many.
