That's only true of racists. There's no evidence that comic book buyers are racist. In fact, I bet they tend to be young, well educated and progressive.

Therefore it has nothing to do with this somehow un American, dual [sic] identity.
It has to do with your antipathy towards dark skinned people. That's all. Don't try to toe tap around the obvious point with all the BS about your heritage and pride.
Calm down there sport.
The Article is about a Black Captain America.
They do indeed refer to themselves as African American.
Since this article isn't about a Polish Captain America I did not address it as such.

It has everything to do with what I claim it to be, Don't project your feelings off onto me, Rev. Nothing racist or derogatory about it, I see it as separating us all from being United as a Nation, no matter what word you add in front of American. It is the combined term I am offended by, not the person's color or ethnicity.

You want to believe it to be racist......fine by me.......no sweat off my back.....

Hey liar, why can't tee baggrz come up with more carefully coded lies?

You made a general statement about the un Americanism of putting another national or ethnic descriptor in front of "American."

But don't hide behind this thread being about a particular comic. You made a general statement. And no one - least of all you - thinks that "Irish American" is un American.

You revealed your racism. You're proud of it. Own it.

A new crop of bushes popped up in a thread in the New York forum......perhaps you could find a racist behind one of them.

There's something wrong with your mind because that did not address my post in any way.

The tee baggrz claim their whining about "African American" as an un Americanism similarly applies to "Irish American" or "Polish American."

Everyone knows that claim is false, is merely a way to try and pretend the faux complaint is not just about dark skin.

Unless one of you racists and anti Semites would like to clear things up by posting, specifically, that "Irish American" as a term is just as "offensive" and "un American" as "African American" is. I bet you all find a way to continue avoid telling _that_ white a lie. Since it would be utterly transparent as such.

You're not lying when you take issue with the term "African American" as troubling to you. Naturally you do. You'd still prefer "neg ro."

It's when I point out that "Italian American" presents the exact same (faux) issues as does "African American" that you have to start lying. None of you tee baggrz _ever_ recorded any complaint about that term - or about "Irish American" - until now. And even now you're completely insincere in pretending to do so.

You just like to complain about black people. Because you're obvious racists. As you posts in this thread (and many others) demonstrate. Most of you just don't like to admit openly, "Sure, I'm racist. I hate black people and I think white people are superior." Only a few of you will do that even semi publicly.

Hey, there's a black Hercules movie coming out. Let's see how your theory holds up. You might have to go back to the drawing board.

What this country needs is a retired fat Jewish tailor as Captain America - or at least Captain Miami Beach.

There wasn't a black kid in my town where I grew up. And all of us read and collected comics. Luke Cage - Power Man was probably one of the most popular next to Conan and Spider-Man. If you are unfamiliar with the Power Man go look him up. He was Black Panther black.

In fact, I've really been hoping for a Marvel movie of him. Great character.

Nope, it really isn't. Some folks making an issue out of a complete non-issue.

I do however, am not a fan of Archie Comics making their series so damn serious these days. I was an avid reader well into my 40s. Had stacks of them in the night stand drawer. It used to be a relatively painless way to dumb the brain down after crunching numbers on contracts all day.

Not any more apparently.

Guffaw! I'd say that hit my funny bone but then someone would take my use of the word "bone" and run with it. And who knows where they'd end up....
