Does selling it constitute it being lost?

I believe it may ..... it wasn't an intention act ... depends on the four corners of the contract ... Question was it really unintentional ??????????insurance wise]

Something is wrong with this story.

Interesting questions, tally. I've had to take my rings off since arthritis and fibro set in a few years ago. It's been 33 years this year so the rings mean a lot to me. They slide on nicely but within 6 hours my knuckles are so inflamed I'm lucky if I can get them off.

I'd guess any insurance co won't cover it as he sold it (mistakenly yes, but still received monetary compensation). If they do have insurance and it IS covered, I'd very much like to know the name of the insurance company.

Why is he having a garage sale with wifey in the hospital? No wife I know would let strangers go through her stuff without being in a 20 foot range.

There does seem something strange going on though. Now would have been the perfect time to take the ring to the jewelry store and have the diamonds replaced with CZ if he wanted the money. So it seems he either really is stupid (didn't he recognize the ring???) or he was being facetious and making a very expensive point.

I positive your rings do mean quite a bite to you and yours and a medical reason is very understandable ...

Not sure how they asses its value at 23,000 , they don't say if the husband bought it for 23,000 or whether it was a family heirloom worth 23,000. If indeed the husband bought the ring for 23,000 then with that kind of purchasing power he will get over it quickly, she won't. Maybe they should have taken the 23,000 and helped the poor, or donated part of it to a humanitarian cause, or just put it into their children's college fund.
