My uncle use to eat of the land, turtle, squirrel, rabbit .... then he would ground it all up. Yuk, I was scarred for life and would never eat at his house unless I saw a Kroger meat package.
I don't even like deer meat .... city girl taste buds.

The worst part about eating turtles is having to wait while they struggle through their last words, they talk so slow. The ones that stutter are even worse.

Yeah. I am really scraping the bottom of the barrel now. A buddy of mine eats turtles, he said the heart keeps beating for like and hour after you take it out of the body, kinda like the Telltale Heart. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Freaks me out thinking about it.

When you cut the turtles head off by poking a stick down it's throat it won't release it's
grip til the next day.
Have you heard about frog legs jumping out of the skillet, well turtle [if you leave any joints in the meat] will move around in the skillet.
(nerve reaction)

PS: next stuttering turtle you catch save it for me

Eating turtles is very easy. Just turn it upside down, pop one into the microwave for 3 minutes on high and Voila!!!! It comes out in it's own convenient bowl!!!!

The biggest problem with horsemeat is not knowing the source. Retired race horses have had a career of being treated with all manner of drugs for diseases, injuries and other medical conditions. No one knows how long this stays in the system,so if a horse is retired and then immediately sold to a killer the meat will still be medicated and this can pass into the food chain. It is also a problem for the pet food industry. Otherwise horse is a good meat source, coarser and leaner than beef with its own distinctive "sweet-ish" flavor/taste.
