In this typos vs. misspellings article the differences between typos and misspellings is explained. A typo is just hitting the wrong key. Misspelling a word is usually more complicated.

Substituting a homophone: The famous errors of mistaking to, too, two; your, you’re, yore; and their, they’re, there are common at the keyboard. We’re less likely to mistake words that name similar things but look and sound very different (for example: ewe and ram) than we are to mistake these words, which take extra cognitive energy to distinguish.

Now that you know what the types of errors are, you can take a closer look at what happens when you type and have a better shot at choosing strategies that will be effective in improving your spelling.

DO YOU THINK??????????

I realize that, but that was not what you intimated by your examples in the first post. You appeared to conflate homophones with typos.

"a debate I was having with Chilli J with an unprovoked insulting comment himself?" Wah! I had no idea you were capable of becoming this permanently emotionally scarred by a little posting banter here.
If you genuinely believe a few "insulting comments" directed back at you are "unprovoked", you might want to start more carefully reading your own posts before you hit that darn "Post Comment" button, puddin.
Here's a thought, dude. If you're all that bumhurt because of a post I made months ago that bruised your confirmed fragile ego, tell me or your shrink all about it at that time, or better yet, just let it go.
I need no reply to this. Thanks for the laugh! Have a great day, will ya?
I have no need to carry on a prolonged discussion about this. And your spin on this is also good for a roll on the floor fit of laughter. You and I were having a heated debate on the thread and Billy with whom I never has previous problems with suddenly jumped in with an insulting remark. Unlike you suggested, I was just setting the record straight with Dondo Dork after she felt fit to post some revisionist history that needed correction and not because I have a fragile ego as you would delusionally imagine. For somebody accusing others of having a fragile ego, you can be very touchy and petty yourself.

You need to stick to law which is your field of expertise and not attempt to try to do what you are not qualified to do, namely read minds. And BTW, the word corrected in a post of Chili J. was a typo as were many of my mistakes and I know how to spell suppose. I just got careless while typing which makes that a typo anyway.

There you are, you nasty little African. I want answer to this:

Almost 260,000 people, half of them young children, died of hunger during the last famine in Somalia, according to a UN report Thursday, with the world body admitting it should have done more to prevent the tragedy.

----------

Why did this happen?
Because of your african rebels. That is who rapes and kills young children. The rebels steal the food sent to help the starving.

I can see the continent Africa on Google Earth. I see the land, the agriculture. There is plenty of food.

Africans kill hundreds of thousand of their own.

How about this: Monrovia - Thousands of Liberians looted food Tuesday from Monrovia's port, a day before rebels were due to hand the area over to aid workers eager to feed the starving city.

You've some damn nerve with the spewy you lap all around Topix saying how bad America is.

You need to do a reality check on how much this warmongering country America is sending in aid to Africa every year. Then...shut your face!

I just want to slap the black straight off of you....

I so totally agree with you. But none the less, I am going to get the word out about the starving children, women, and men on that continent.

Am so tired of it all.

And yes...he is a POS. Big time!

As I told him...I am going to give him mean. At first I offered friendship and understanding. But hell...is like speaking to a damn wall. Or parrot at best.

I came back to Topix after taking 7 months off...saw the threads and thought folk were picking on him. Well...now....I see why.
