What can you buy for $1.4 billion a year?
You can buy the most luxurious and costly royal presidency in history.

Taxpayers spent $1.4 billion dollars on everything from staffing, housing, flying and entertaining President Obama and his family last year, according to the author of a new book on taxpayer-funded presidential perks.

In comparison, British taxpayers spent just $57.8 million on the royal family.

Author Robert Keith Gray writes in “Presidential Perks Gone Royal” that Obama isn’t the only president to have taken advantage of the expensive trappings of his office. But the amount of money spent on the first family, he argues, has risen tremendously under the Obama administration and needs to be reined in.

Gray told The Daily Caller that the $1.4 billion spent on the Obama family last year is the “total cost of the presidency,” factoring the cost of the “biggest staff in history at the highest wages ever,” a 50 percent increase in the numbers of appointed czars and an Air Force One “running with the frequency of a scheduled air line.”

Perspective:$1.4 billion is equal to spending seven times Mitt Romney’s entire net-worth every year. If Romney had to pay for Barack and Michelle’s lifestyle this year, he would have been bankrupted by the third week in February.

Picked this up while 'surfing' this morning.
Thought you might like it- his sense of humor
I like:

The joy of receiving the proverbial Barry & ME-chelle’s Social Leans & Means Soy treats to deem us all slim and fit, wearing red paper hats and aprons and handing out flyers emblazoned with the motto:“If it’s made by the government then it’s good enough for you!”
(( Was that a GM government sponsored add for Luv ))

Clicking our heels we go back to the factories or crammed apartments which are shared by all and enable the entire community to save on things that once made us whole and happy. Thank you, Dear Leader! For giving us the will to live another day…and prepare for the revolution.

Dear
Mr. President,

Please find
below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy.
Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies
that will squander the money on lavish parties and
unearned bonuses, use the following plan.

You can call it the
"Patriotic Retirement
Plan":

There are about 40
million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them
$1 million apiece severance for early retirement
with the following
stipulations:

1) They MUST
retire. Forty million job openings -

Unemployment
fixed.

2) They MUST buy a new
A ME RICAN Car. Forty million cars ordered -

Auto Industry fixed.

3) They MUST
either buy a house or pay off their mortgage -
Housing Crisis fixed.

It can't
get any easier than
that!!

P.S. If more money is
needed, have all members in Congress pay their
taxes..

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Sagittarius

Is someone wanting to prove a point and show what a free spirit they can be? Today, they could get involved with someone who's in complete contrast to their own personality or who everyone decides is wildly unsuitable as a prospective partner. The more anyone protests about this, the more determined this person will be to follow their heart. So keep quiet!
