Calendars, but I have also bought a few out dated ones. Talk about nearly useless.

You know don't you there are calendars you should save and especially if they are awesome. They many be used again and somewhere I have a list of all the same years according to days and dates though years in the past .. ahh and future.

I'm gonna buy Fourth of July things for next year tomorrow. Tehehee

Cleaning supplies. And yes I love the Dollar Store. Anytime I can buy cheaper, I'm happy.

The first thought that came to my mind was..........Like what?

First off it's a Dollar store. What kind of dollar store?
Dollar General
Dollar Tree
Family Dollar
Deals

Dilf if you told me you bought your mother-in-law a gift at Dollar Tree I might be a little worried about what you got. But maybe if it was bought at Family Dollar or Dollar General I might not worry as much.

I would ask my husband the same questions......

Not that the price of the gift matters, more the quality of the item purchased.

I haven't stepped foot in a dollar store for quite some time, but I may head over there this week to see if they carry any small candle wreathes for Fall. I was going to buy a candle decoration at a high end supermarket the other night, when someone in line asked me how much it cost. $14.99 I said. Even before she had asked me, I was debating whether or not to buy it. It really wasn't worth the price, but I liked it and thought it would look nice on my mantel for Thanksgiving Day. The woman said it was cute but she would never pay that much for that. I had to agree. I realized the piece consisted of a cheap glass and a Fall candle wreathe that was hot glued onto it with a thin metal support on the bottom. Easy to make and I can probably get the same or similar items at the dollar store for much less.

Kudos to you!!!
I wish my wife had that kind of practical sense.
I take pride in not simply throwing money at things, makes me feel good to get the best possible value out of anythoing.....I hate waste.
