I hereby donate Marley Money for the next rocket experiment into outer space. We should never send innocent animals out there, something bad can happen to them.

Really? It seems to me that there are many species that would devour the monkey alive as opposed to merely putting it in a situation where a fear response evoked and then return it to safety. I personally would prefer to be temporarily scared and then returned to safety than to be eaten alive...but that is just me. Perhaps you being eaten alive has some aesthetic value for you...which seems odd to me but to each their own I suppose.

usa rocks, who are you and why are you on this forum. what happened to that monkey is just beyond imagination. it is tied down so it can't move, then blasted into space. when it comes back what will happen to it? it will be so disturbed and it will live the rest of its life in a little cage somewhere, i don't even like to think about what will hapen to it. i came onto this forum after i saw what happened to that monkey to just get the support from some like minded people because i'm so upset by the picture i saw in the newspaper. please stay away from this forum. maybe you can find a forum who don't give a shit about defenceless innocent animals having things like this done to them.

Aren't you overreacting here just a little?

Some human cultures eat monkeys after shooting them out of trees with arrows or poison darts.

There are many humans that would rather devour the monkey alive, most of them being Chinese.

What do you mean it will be so disturbed? Humans and animals get over events. Sometimes environmental stimuli trigger (such as seeing a helmet or rocket) reactions but I would suspect that this type of stimuli would be rare to see if the critters sees it at all ever again in its life. If the monkey has bad monkey dreams, I don't really care. Not a big deal really.

As for me posting on this forum, I will post wherever I like. This is not a "pro animal rights forum." It is a place to discuss animal rights regardless of whether or not one is an advocate for animal rights.

I'm for them sending career criminals. I have a friend that cringes at any animal abuse. She won't watch or listen during animal neglect. I'm not for abuse of animals either, however animals are violent toward each other. Animals kill for food/ protecton. It's their way of life as nature dictates. Just as humans are violent. In defense of humans- some of us are so gentile killing isn't an option.

Humans are actually worse as they are the only species known that also kills for jealousy, rage and fun..we are not a pretty species by any means.

That's why I said some humans are gentile, won't kill. Unfortunately most humans are as you say.

All humans kill. We drive knowing that bugs will get fried in our radiator. We walk knowing that we can (and will sometimes) step on and squish living critters. We use resources thereby taking those resources from a different critter meaning that some critters will die of starvation. This is natural and good. There is nothing wrong or "immoral" about killing an animal.

Only if there is a purpose in doing it.(Like food for example)
But to kill for no reason but to have fun doing it is a sin. It is waisting the gifts of nature that God has given us. Destroying the gifts of the Earth will eventually destroy us all if we keep thinking that we "own" the earth.

I hate cats too. What do you think we should do to the cat species for doing this?

There are those people that will not kill. Some scarifice their own lives even. As for me- I would kill but ONLY to save my own or loved ones. If I see someone about to shoot kids, I would risk my life. I"ll even go with all humans pocess the "kill instinct", does'nt mean that instinct will be enacted. A person can override that. And some have.
