My aunt was almost 11 pounds and she is in her sixties! So you know there wasn't as many choices. Can you imagine one hundred and sixty years.
~laughing~ Oh..I can for darn sure imagine sixty years.

My sister is 65 this year, she was born in 1948. She was a dry birth. My mother suffered for three days trying to delivery her.

Odd thing is, my grandson was also a dry birth. They ended up taking him C-section after the third day. Then..for the next ten days...he fought for his life in ICU. He will be 2 in Sept. He is as perfect as a human can be.

“and how does this effect you?”

That is odd. Aren't dry births like 10% or something.

Got me, I looked it up. All I know is both my mom and daughter fluids broke three days before they delivered:

My mother called it a dry birth. I am just following her lead.

well ladies,i don't like to brag but...

I was 5 cc dilated before I even felt any pain with my second child,
I was in labor 6 1/2 hrs. with first one, 2 hrs. with second.
2 hr after my son was born, nurse checked me out and asked if I exercise a lot because I was almost back to normal there.

hubby use to say I was made for breeding.

No thanks, I Don't think so....

Had a wonderful evening, thank you.
You know, modern medicine is a strange ball of wax, but think of what females went through in days of old. I try real hard not to. I Am R negative B blood type. Having babies is a dangerous game to play for females such as myself. Before the discovery of rhesus shots. I always tell my children they are part monkey. Does them good!
Have a good day...enjoy!
glad you had a good evening......

all I know is, if I was born 100 years before, I would be dead now, through childbirth..... guess I was just lucky huh?? I also have factor 8 blood.... haemophiliacs love me.... lol

R neg is very rare...... I am A pos..... guess you were lucky to.....

One month overdue and four days labour!

I was in labour at about the due date, my
husband arrived and broke the news to me that
my sister had been in a car crash ..my labour
stopped, they sent me home.

Two weeks later, same scenario, this time I
was informed by the Midwife that my doctor had died. Can you believe it? I was sent home.

Went into labour finally at 10 months, my bed at the hospital had gone, so the Salvation Army Maternity Home gave me a private room where I
gave birth to my second son after a long labour.

As the home was in a poor part of Manchester, there were bars at the window....my son was born behind bars!

It gets worse. The Matron was my former Headmistress sister, she let this slip when I washed my hair and told me 'you have always been a problem haven't you'..LOL!
