When it comes to the issue of Girl Scout cookies and nieces, I'll plead the Fifth.<quoted text>
Coconut? Is that what they put in Mounds bars? LOL :)
Caramel Delights (aka Samoa's) Yes I do recall both names through the years, good choice. Thin Mints those too. I haven't had any Girl Scout cookies for years, sounds like she has you wrapped around her finger. Encouragement is always good especially when it comes in sweets.
I understand your disappointment in your missed opportunity to ask him about his happy times in service. Instead he gave you something greater, memories. I think too many people dwell on the past and look at the negative way to much. Sometimes laughter is the best medicine, other times yes you do need to cry, get angry, be sad/depressed. Sometimes a person only chooses to share the other feelings with only a few people. Or maybe even by themselves behind closed doors. What he did worked for him and his family and friends. Be happy he could work through it.
Have a good evening/morning/afternoon!
Those cookies are sugary, tasty goodness and combined with encouraging her that she can succeed with a goal, my cynicism can only so far.
With regard to my aunt/uncle, I realize now that my question brought back horrible memories.
I was naive.
And my aunt jumped in to protect him.
I learned a couple things that day. One of which is what a marriage should be.
