Although I enlisted during wartime, I look back at my time in the service and would do it all over again if I could.
The service is what you make of it. Fortunately for all of us, not all young men and women see things the same way as you do.
But I do respect your reasoning and opinion.
That's what I don't get about soldiers.
My dad enlisted during war time...had a bad
time, was wounded and sent home. Then tried
like hell to get back. Why? I don't have
the veriest clue.

I never go by the media when it comes to health
care matters.
But ppl think that this H1N1 strain of Influenza is
going to be a cake walk b/c it didn't hit us hard
but that strain was a shock to the medical community.
With strains of bird, pig and human DNA it's something
new and very dangerous.
Also the SARS virus...another one I think we'll
see make a come back at a later date.
And you're right....containment of any major disease,
in this day and age, would be impossible.
So what's your take on these nurses who refuse to get the latest influenza shots?

Employee rights versus patient safety?

I thought of you and my daughter when I saw this the other day.

It doesn't make any difference who said it, it's profound and to the point. For EraserX - true but they perform a service for us.

Found this on an Amazon thread:
"Any man [or woman] who thinks he [or she] can be happy and prosperous by letting the Government take care of him [or her], better take a closer look at the American soldier"
The American soldier, sailor, or marine lives in a 100 percent socialist world, more so than anybody else in the U.S. They may be born in government hospitals, attend government schools, live in government housing, shop in government stores, get paid by government, retire with a government pension, and get buried in a government cemetery.
So, what do you think? Are our soldiers, sailors, and marines the most miserable people in America? If not, why not?"
LOL
I'll say, as one of those military people, that we do one thing that the general public, wanting government subsidies, does not. We write a check to that government which includes our very life. We honor that check willingly. We do it for our country and it's citizens who will never understand why. It's not just for a trip to the commissary.

with all due respect, one of humans most essential needs is affirmation of their lives, a belief in a purpose, country , community family fills that essential need and government and corporations exploit it.

what do you mean by that? I think many people write that check for family, friends community, but probably not for government.

I'm ok with giving out Obamacare handouts to people that get shot at.

Early references to the quotes in books and new articles say it is from Hugh Allen, not Henry Ford.

I can't find anything to prove he did say it. Any suggestions?
Happy and prosperous? I'm just trying to stay alive.
