I'm buttin in again....

In all honesty, I've only been an official member for a month myself and I've yet to post anything false about myself or my views on here. I guess I don't see why anyone would post something like this and lie about it. But then again, I've been told more than once I'm pretty naive.

I say give the guy a chance. He seems genuine.

Well Milwaukee, I've been here since 2007 mostly as a greyboxer....I honestly think you're an ass but have left you alone.

Why don't you try doing the same for a change!

And yes we did lose a son in 78 (Brandon)

I admit...I got a little drunk last night and got stupid enough to post....

Now please Topix remove this thread.

And with that we don't know anything about him.

If it is indeed true, it's sad.

If not, it's sadder.

I believe. If I'm a sucker, I don't care. My heart will not turn to stone. It won't be the first or last time I've been right or wrong. I've only been here on this thread for 3 months, no need for me to lie. I'm proud of my compassion....naive or not.

Thanks for responding to my post.

For starters, this is the internet - you always have two choices - to believe or not to believe, tune in or turn off. My point is that if I needed to garnish support or sympathy for a personal loss, I certainly wouldn't post my feelings on a public forum - let alone a forum populated by head-hunting trolls. Like I said, if it is indeed true (which I highly doubt), then it is sad. If not - it is really sad.

I guess I'm not as trusting and gullible as some others on this forum.

I've lost people also - it's a tough world. This is the internet - everyone's Vespa does 185 mph, don't cha' know!

I still wouldn't share much with this crowd from my personal life - regardless of what, who or where.

But that's just me - you know being an ass and all.

LMAO! I get your point but Mantai was an idiot.(Maybe I am too... who knows?)

I don't find it too far fetched that someone may have drank a little much and in his grief posted about a child he lost. Grief and alcohol aren't the best mix. I know that all too well.

I watched my best friend bury her 17 year old daughter ..... so sad.
It changed her not for the better, she got involved with drugs, lost her job, she was sell her things out of her home.
Finally her husband got a clue and packed up his damaged wife, excavated their daughter, and moved away. I haven't heard from them since.
I hope she has gotten her life back on the right track.

Again , well said . It does not take alcohol to express oneself . But he did say that and you could ( I could) feel the pain even though he barely said anything . Yes Reb's this poster is known to ppl , I don't think he was looking for sympathy at all , he just expressed himself . Like we all do around here .

Thanks for responding to my post and God bless you for your compassion. My point was that regardless of whether it was true or not - choosing not to believe his story does not necessarily make anyone a bad person. I admit, I could be wrong about his story - as I said, if it is true - then it is indeed sad. Even if I knew him, which I don't - I would question his intent.

It's not worth anymore conversation - or time.

Your Welcome....

My intent was to honor my son.
Stupid of me to get drunk & do it here...YES...
Wish now that I hadn't done it....YES...
Looking for sympathy....NO....(well maybe a little at the time)

Excuse me "Your Highness" for being a sentimental old fool!

The rest of you....Thank You!

Look, I've already said - I hope I'm wrong. I've seen waaaaaay too much BS on the internet to believe anything anymore. I even question whether there is actually more than 100 members on Topix. Try to develop a little thicker skin. This is not the place to hang your sorrow - trust me.

If you're looking for an apology - you're wasting your time. Like I said - I've lost people too.

Here is a very beautiful song:

details from the Internet>

**********

"History of the song

Phil Coulter's first son was born with Down's syndrome; several months later he wrote the song "Scorn Not His Simplicity" about his experiences with his son's disorder.[3][4] He first played the song to Luke Kelly. Because of the personal nature of the song, Luke Kelly felt that the song should not be sung except for special occasions, and not on every performance. Appears on The Dubliners 1970 LP Revolution.[5]"

Here is '

'SCORN NOT HIS SIMPLICITY' bu Phil Coulter..
