I grew up country, but I've lived urban too, and I've been happy in either setting. They each have things they offer.

I was born in California, my dad was a military man, so moved a bit, settled us in Missouri when I was 8. So, pretty much raised here. Love to travel though.

Ola, I think I might'v called him an army man on an earlier post, he was in air force, not army. Seen that and not sure where the heck my head was, LOL. A couple of tipsy postings here and there.

Haha, you're funny. You look like a tough guy, yet you're afraid of the medical world. I'm teasing, it's always scary to get stuff done to your body. My doctor said it was better for the man to get it than the woman, easier to do I guess, but he said hell no, you do want you want, but I'm not doing that LOL. I had to have my appendix removed when I was 16, got the tubes tied and have had 2 kids, that's the extent of my hospital stays. When my appendix burst, I had to get so much blood work and tests done, it was a nightmare. It's common for appendixes to go out but most people go to the hospital before they actually burst within their body. My parents had a flu right before it happened so when I got sick, they just thought I had it and didn't take me to the hospital. One night I got up to use the restroom and that's when it burst, I collapsed, my dad had to carry me to the car. When we got there, they said about 3 more hours and she would have been dead, then I passed out. Woke up 3 days later in the ICU, not a fun summer for me at all. But, that's the worst thing medically that's ever happened to me, I'm an extremely healthy person and take really good care of myself, so hopefully, that's the worst of it for me. The really f@#ked up thing was how much weight I lost. When I first went to school after that I was super tiny and everybody was telling me how good I looked, but I didn't, what a screwed up world, where sick looks good. Sorry, I'm yammering on, it's been a long boring day, you have a good one. As always, I love reading your posts.
That sounds like an awful experience you had. Your parents must have been worried sick.

Yes, I am happy I’ve had nothing like that. My wife had to have her gallbladder taken out about 2 years ago, but everything went well with that.

They were, but it's all good now. They never hesitated with any of us after that though (2nd oldest of 4). My mom had to have gallbladder out too. Hope that isn't a hereditary thing, I don't plan on going back to hospitals, if I can help it, LOL.

Thanks for the prop, btw. I'd return the favor, but I'm all out. I'm sure you'll say something that catches my eye, when I've got some to give though. You usually do.

I’m pretty tough, but I’m admittedly a BIG baby when it comes that stuff (I'm completely fine at the dentist, tho, it's just with doctors when they want to poke me or cut me). I’ve always been that way.

These stories are kind of amusing, in hindsight:

1) I got really grumpy in the waiting room for my snip, because everyone (2-3 other men) I talked to all said, oh, man don’t worry … I was super nervous too, but it’s not that bad … they WILL give you a pain pill and you’ll be so loopy you won’t even know what you or they are doing … trust us! In hindsight, yeah, trust you … f’ you, a$sholes, lmao!

So, I showed up on the day of my procedure and the receptionists tells me to sit down and I’ll be called back soon … I’m like, AHEM, you are you gonna be giving me THAT pain pill or something so that it will take effect before he starts doing his thing … rite …. rite … the pain pill that everyone told me about … the one that will make me so loopy I won’t even know what’s going … YOU’RE GOING to be giving me one of those, of course … the receptionist tells me, no, we usually don’t give those for this procedure and you’d have needed a script for it beforehand if you wanted one.

My immediate thoughts were WTF did she just say … this is b.s.… out of all the doctors in this town who do this, I have to pick the one jerk who wants me to be a tough guy and completely lucid during this god awful procedure from hell!

We went and sat down, but I was NOT A HAPPY CAMPER. I was like Fred Flintstone mumbling to my wife under my breath because I did not want to make a scene (It was me and a waiting room full of old men) and she was trying to calm me down.
The nurse kept telling me to breathe during the procedure, cause I was so tense during the whole thing, even though I wouldn’t say it was very painful. It’s a mind thing with me.

2) About two years ago, my allergist wanted me to take a RAST test to see what all I was allergic too, but I had to go to some other place to have it done. I thought they were just going to take A, as in one, vial of blood. So I schlepped over to the place and I walked back to the room where my blood was to be drawn. The lady is like alight let me go get the vials. I’m like oh she said vialS, maybe it’s like 2 … maybe 3, at most, vialS. She comes back into the room with this MASS of vials … big ones (they held like 4 times the volume of a test tube). I think she had to make two trips for the vials. 12 of them! I think she said it’s the most vials she’s ever taken at once.

I didn’t say anything, but I was like “OMFG I HAD NO IDEA I WAS SIGNING UP FOR THIS … I don’t give a f’ what I am allergic too that bad … unless what I am allergic to is gonna kill me this is not necessary … I’ve lived with allergies for 15 years not knowing all what I’m allergic to and if I don’t know what I’m allergic to for another 60 years, tops, before I die, it won’t matter in the scheme of things!!!!”

I was fine at first, by about vial 6, I broke out in a cold sweat and was feeling light headed and seeing stars by the time she was done. I thought I was going to pass out. She didn’t even have me lay down.

Did you know:

Wet Air

When it rains, the weather changes altogether. If its summer weather gets pleasant and if it is winter, it gets colder. Many people think that with rain, air gets heavier due to water vapors, but this is not the fact, the wet air is always lighter than the dry air.

(Jesus, I had to check the thread title three times to make sure was right thread. WTF? kind of turn did this thread take?)
