I think this is BS. There was no probable cause they just happened to see it. With talk of drones coming to a city near you this will happen much more often. What a waste of money and man hours.

I see the logic of the police as greatly flawed.

The story says cops believe this will curb violence because the growers will purchase guns to protect their crops. Many businesses will pull a gun on a would be robber. So no difference there.

Now if the grower made 10 mil from the crop, as was reported, Do you really believe he will be roaming the streets shooting and robbing people?

The biggest crimes in the war on drugs are committed by the men in blue.

I do have to wonder why they didn't watch the crop until the growers showed up.
Glad they didn't though.

for a reason. They don't mention any traps, fertilizer or evidence that this was a crop. But it looked liked trees? Probably Japanese maple.

Have we learned nothing from Prohibition? Much like back then they can't stop the import or use and criminals are the ones that make the profit.
The taxes on ten million in sales would be a boon, instead tax money is wasted on trying to stop it.
I would much rather see murders, rapists and pedophiles in the prisons, not a grower. Overcrowding causes early release of violent criminals too.

I agree the taxes would be a good thing if pot were legalized,'BUT' the local PDs would lose those millions in confiscated goods, like homes, cars, yachts, airplanes, cash, etc....

They will go down fighting tooth and nail to keep it illegal.

You are correct, Criminals make millions from this.
But who are the true criminals?

You can murder someone, drive drunk and cause death, and do a few years in prison, get out and still have your home to return to, your fancy cars, planes, money, etc...

I agree the PDs see the confiscation as income.
The true criminals are the ones making a profit off the industry. Seems the police would have to be included on list.

Going through the court system it is clear to any honest person that the one who do the most time are poor. The defendants that can pay an attorney always get a better deal. Public defenders simply aid the DAs in plea deals, they have no financial incentive to keep their clients out of jail. If anyone really cares about equal justice they should start with the courts.

too many people in government and business making profit off the"war" on drugs. military contractors and corporate owned prisons for one and probably more besides that. so the people that really lose are the taxpayers that fund it all...
