it doesn't matter what socity thinks, either way someone is going to have something to say. teach your kids whats right and wrong.i have 3 mixed kids, and they have their problems with other kids, but nothing that they can't handle. one of my daughters has blond hair(more of a blacker texture than white) and blue eyes and is light skinned, and she gets called white girl all the time and she hates it. where as her sister (they have the same daddy) is brown complected, brown eyes, brown hair. she just loks more like her daddy than the other one. basically as long as I know what they are mixed with i could give achit less what a peice of paper says. but they do have the option of listing bi-racial now. which is what it says on my girls BC.
Thx

My opinion isn't worth squat, but I'm saying it any way. I agree with you, Memphian. Let the kids be proud of both. Naming the baby's race on a birth certificate is a grossly outdated custom. Naming ourselves as Americans first and foremost would serve to unite us, while naming our race serves to divide us and is practically useless in our blended gene pool.

True.I would not put anything serious on here espiecially when there are people like me about that find it hard to be serious.
Anyway whats the problem with just putting mixed race,as long as the baby is not French, then god knows what you would put.

Some of you people are just brain dead. I WAS TRYING TO GET FEEDBACK FROM SOMEONE WHO HAD A CHILD RECENTLY OR HAS KNOWLEDGE OF HOW THINGS ARE DONE THESE DAYS...NOT HOW THEY WERE DONE 50 DAMN YEARS AGO. BTW, suggesting for me to ask the President is just ignorant...when you get his phone number let me know...THEN I'LL GIVE HIM A CALL. But like I said...he has nothing to do with this...so stop trying to use this thread as a way to discuss your political views people!
you are a clear example of an misinformed person... the lady was joking with you ..but smart one look on the internet and it explains all of that to you ....because of the now president ... and don't be rude

I know about the "one drop rule," and I don't support it. I am a BW and my fiance is a WM. We think the one drop rule is ignorant and very old fashioned. So we are raising our kids as biracial...not black..not white. I don't care what society says, I want my kids to be proud of both sides. They should not have to choose a race and deny one parent just to please society.
Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that we want to have biracial on the birth certificates of our children. We have never had kids and don't know how that works, but we plan on having them in 2 years or so...maybe sooner if God makes it happen. Do the parents tell the hospital what they want the kids to be listed as, or will they just put black and white down...or will they try the one drop rule and just say the kids are black??? Last time I checked it takes two people to make a baby, and I am not going to just say my kids are black because that would not be true. Anyway, please fill me in on how this works. If you only want to respond with negative comments, please don't waste your time. I just want serious replies only from people who are not here to say rude or racist comments. Be respectful! THX!
I hope you received the answer you were looking for.
