What a loaded question...
Those wanting the 'free' stuff usually aren't the ones that end up paying for it "WE" are.
=*= Everyone knows nothing in 'life' is free =*=
some must pay a much larger price than others
IMO "WE" have too many "LEECHERS"
=*='our' government being the largest =*=

You're absolutely right, H H! Far too many Americans expect too much free stuff from government!" Since you believe strongly that too many folks expect too much, you'll return any future freebie Social checks and not expect Medicare to pay for your medical needs?

Bold move! I'm a guy who pays lots of income tax each year, so I'm a bit tired or financially carrying you angry, dependant, needy, whiny retirees. You folks did fine before Social Security passed in '35 and Medicare in '65. Let us know how that works out?

Are you implying that HH didn't pay into SS or medicare? Kind of a bold claim for a guy with pouty lips.

just to let you know social security is your own money that the gov. takes from you while you work. it was created to make people save for their old age. it based on the railroad retirement and works very well there because they don't give it to people who don't work or put in the system.

Psst! If you collect Medicare and SS and live to the age of 80+, you will receive 3 times as much as what you paid into those programs. So "it works very well" for everyone but us hard-working Fed income tax-paying folks who carry your octegenarian azzes. Admit it, you're moocher takers! Most of you, I don't mind that fact. A few of you I might! Settle down, gramps! We'll keep financially carrying you!

No one should expect anything .... I make my own way and expect nothing.

As do I. I've been fortunate so far, but not everyone is as fortunate as I.

Let's put it this way, some will expect the government to get them to Heaven.

You've never supported me, dude! I started working at the age of 12, washing dishes at a truck stop on I-70, worked my way through college and have worked since then.

I've studied hard, worked hard and been fortunate, so I've never sought U E, or any public assistance. So tell me, how you've ever financially supported me? You haven't.

If you're retired, my bi-monthly contributions to Social Security and the Federal Income Taxes I pay each year have helped you keep suckling off of the Government teat.

In the last 25 years, I've earned enough to pay the maximum amount of Social Security tax each year. So yes, I'm carrying you, H H. No need to thank me. You're welcome!

first i work too and i probably put more in then you do. second i said it works well for the railroad retirement because they don't give it away to people that didn't put in. also medicare is form a tax on both employer and employee, so that too is paid for before you use it.

1st I help provide you a country you could wash dishes in, go to college, and work in.
2nd during my working years they collected SS from personal income and it was supposed to be invested but wasn't.
3rd due to the inflation rate the money I paid in as opposed to what they're paying back was much more valuable.
4th This is why I consider the government runs the largest "Ponzi Scheme" ever.
5th I said I was supporting your ass, I said nothing about financially supporting you ... you do still have your ass don't you?
6th all the taxes I paid before you even got here
went to a government that could support itself, not like this mess we're in now your a part of.
So in the last 25 years who have you been stealing money from in order to pay the maximum amount of Social Security tax each year, since your saying that's what I'm doing.
I hope you realize there won't be any SS when your ready to retire I'll have already used it all.LOL
