On Thursday (8/15/13), President Obama said the violence “needs to stop” and canceled a joint military exercise with the Egyptian government. But he stopped short of saying anything about the $1.5 billion in military and economic aid that the United States gives Egypt each year. Some experts and politicians think Obama should cut this assistance altogether( is it his decision?)

The aid itself is not necessarily that significant in material terms(NEIGH! 1 1/2 billion grows on trees). A lot of the actual money ends up going back to U.S. companies (Who was it built all those planes we gave to Egypt?)(did that money end up in politicans pockets?). It’s as much a subsidy for U.S. manufacturing as a subsidy for the Egyptian military(and if Obama decides against the military will the Muslim Brotherhood get it?). And the Gulf states have also made clear that they’ll cover any losses if the U.S. pulls back.

What's the aid do?

Sen. John McCain said (R-Ariz.)“Their economy is— is in terrible shape(is that the pot calling the kettle black?), thanks to their policies, but the fact is the United States should not be supporting this coup and it’s a tough call.”

Have all of you turned a 'blind eye' to what's happening with and to this country?
Isn't it time "WE" spoke up?
= "OR" = should "WE" forever hold our peace?
=*= In that case...forever is not far off =*=

WORSE than corruption, is the fact that the majority of us are willing to turn a blind eye to questionable activity once we believe it will benefit us.

This willingness to turn a blind eye is currently evident by the praise that is heaped on Obama by his former constituents despite clouds of corruption hanging over that official’s head

“There is something worst than corruption as we normally define it and that thing ladies and gentlemen is the emergence and strengthening of the culture of compartmentalisation. On one hand we concentrate a laser-like attention on ourselves and our personal interests and on the other we expand our deficit of action on what can be beneficial to the society of which we are an integral part by which we are daily affected and among which we profess ourselves so gravely concerned."

"WE" are more and more unmindful of the intense irony of that contradiction which in practice leads to a proliferation of the same corrupt activity of which we say we disapprove."

A poll conducted by many news sources “found that 90 per cent of those surveyed saw corruption as widespread” in this country.
