I've never heard of diseases being passed on through breast milk, but I guess it might be possible these days.

What I thought of was - if they mix them up for that, could they mix them up when it's time to leave?

info: What can happen if someone else's breast milk is given to another child? HIV and other serious infectious diseases can be transmitted through breast milk. However, the risk of infection from a single bottle of breast milk, even if the mother is HIV positive, is extremely small. For women who do not have HIV or other serious infectious diseases, there is little risk to the child who receives her breast milk.

Now her kid will be damaged, contaminated, and scarred for life, so naturally she'll want about $2M for that... Seriously, I am glad everyone is okay and that the hospital actually admitted to their error.

The hospital took precautions, the mother didn't breast feed, and the health department made her give the babies the HIV cocktail for a year and be regularly tested during that time. They have tested negative every time since them. So even HIV+ mothers can give birth to babies without it.

Now if both were to breastfeed each other's child, it would be tit for tat.
