It depends, but generally, I'd say yes. And if it is a plot or solicitation, certainly so.

I read where a 19-year-old was staying with her aunt. She was meeting guys online and inviting them over, and her aunt tried to stop that. Well, the girl blocked her aunt. So the aunt put up a fake account and pretended to be a guy. She offered "him" sex in exchange for paying off a $50 phone bill, and she tried to get him to kidnap the family and said that if the aunt had a problem, to just kill her.

Then there were several stories of boys having threats made against them in their absence. In one, a girl had an illegal alien boyfriend who someone told on for bringing a gun to school. She suspected this one boy as being the informant. He wasn't but she and 3 other friends discussed how they would kill him and all decided what they would do. The boy's mom found this and called the police. I am not sure what they were charged with, but it sounds like conspiracy was one of the charges. A more recent one involved a boy's mother stumbling onto a plot as well.

Good evening folks.
It looks like quite a few are in agreement on this.
Pleasantly surprised to see so many of you agreeing that common sense prevails over paranoia.
As well as acknowledging a healthy dose of caution never hurt and may save a life.
Thank you all for engaging in this discussion.
Take care out there.
