The 80s were a great decade, what do you miss about them or remember about them?

The 80s were probably the last good days socially in America.

I miss looking forward to the 21st Century, the New Millenium. That was "the future", the time when most of our problems would be solved. The young people of the 60' and 70's had finally grown up and were starting new families. Those who had lived through the Depression were finally going to be able to retire. That "future" seemed pretty bright, but it turned out that we really didn't need shades after all. I hope that our young people don't have to wait until another century closes in before they have a future that looks that bright again.

Our kids were born in the 80's. They were small in the 80's.

Other than that...the 80's? LOL!

I miss big hair, hot chics. I miss how the women use to dress, tight clothes, short dresses. Now it seems muslims or other wacky religions have taken over and women practically cover themselves from head to toe.

I miss living life and being free. Feels as if China has taken over.

I miss fast and loud cars, I hate all of these little mini cars made of tin cans.

Men wore tight jeans back then. Not the damn sag down to your knees things that pass for jeans, these days. Or those too damn skinny jeans, in which the guy looks like his arms are bigger than the toothpicks he thinks are legs.

Long Haired Men...(no one saw that one coming? hah!)

Most of the music, but that is what music players (CD/Cassettes/Vinyl/MP3...) are for, these days.

MTV really was wanted,(I want my MTV) and played videos!!!
(yes, kiddies, I promise, it is true)

Concerts were cheaper.

There was an element, of innocence, still left, back then.

Bee Gees (shock) released One and You Win Again <~ which happens to be my son's favorite Bee Gees song.

1988, May, brought the birth of my son. I was 20 then, and Ready for the World (note: music group, lol) now... meh.

<sighs>
