My soon to be ex calls my name an average of 15 times a day from our room upstairs. I made him aware of this.

At first he denied it. Then he tried to stop. Then he denied it again.

That very night, minutes after he said he doesn't call me that often, our lil green cheek bird called out, "Hey D.J."

I wonder where Jammer learned that.

I live in Wales and we rescued a dog, Rottweiler/German Shepherd cross, 12 years of age.
He was already called Lucky, that should have given us a clue!
He soon settled in and I learnt he had never been taken for walks, just let out to roam, he adapted to riding in the car, and loved his trips to the beach and to the lake, with our two 'girls'.
His previous owner was a Welshman, I thought it fair to talk to Lucky in the language he had been used to...my friend and her husband taught me doggie phrases. Lucky was so obedient.
One day about six months later, I met a man in the park who heard me called to Lucky to 'come here' in Welsh.
'Course, Bryan always spoke to him in English' he told me.
Whoops.
One bi-lingual dog.
Goes to show, Lucky was responding to love, not a language.

My cat who is around 20 years sleeps on a kitchen chair in my kitchen in front of the window. She sleeps in the chair because she can't keep her balance on the window sill anymore. Beside her is my oldest house plant in a 20 inch pot on a tall plant stand. Beside the plant is my bakers rack. Beside my backers rack is my kitchen counter. For a few weeks when I would get up in the morning I would find little bits of dirt on my counter top and on my bakers rack. I waited to see when the cat did the curious walk. Never caught her, so I thought I will put paper towels on the plant at night. Didn't work! I thought I could move the plant and decided against it because it was doing really well in that location of the house. So I finely put up my cooling racks on the bakers rack to stop her. I did notice a night or two after doing that a little dirt on the floor by the cat's chair. I guess she figured it out and gave up! It's been about two weeks now and I still don't trust the cat will get up there again if I remove the cooling racks. I guess I should try her out here soon. But I don't know? One a sneaky kitty always a sneaky kitty!

:)

Oh the cat did it at night because she knew she wasn't supposed to be on the counter. I wonder what else she does?????

Nothing much more genuine than the love that a dog gives you, it's unconditional and true. So sad when that type of love goes......
I know you know this but anyway.....give him/her as much love in the time he/she has left, the dog will know..... 8-)
